Fender Custom Shop '52 Tele in Shell Pink Heavy Relic with Large C Neck

Here at Andertons Music Co. we're fortunate enough to get our hands on a number Fender Custom Shop instruments, to give you a chance to own something truly special and unique. The '52 Tele Heavy Relic is a pure, old-school Telecaster that traditionalists will simply adore.

With its worn aesthetics, time-honoured hardware and vintage-style electronics; this premium guitar is an early '50s Telecaster through and through with an ash body, '52-style neck, a '51 Nocaster neck pickup but with a hotter-wound Twisted Tele bridge pickup.

Time-Honoured, Lightweight Ash Body

The '52 Custom Shop Tele's body is formed from lightweight Ash, much like the very first solid-body electric guitars that Fender constructed in the '50s. Not only does this particular material give the guitar a forgiving weight, but its resonant and vibrant tonal qualities also offer a strong voice, serving as the perfect foundation for the sweet-sounding pickups.

Old-School Neck Profile

Paired with a bolt-on quartersawn Maple neck, the famous Fender snap that you'd expect is very present, ensuring you get the classic Tele twang. Finished in a nitrocellulose lacquer, this neck has a luxuriously smooth feel that has been artificially worn to give it a familiar and played-in impression. 

With a Large "C" profile, fans of early Telecasters will be provided with a highly-authentic and substantial feel. Adorned with a Maple fretboard, this provides some essential sturdiness to balance the overall sound of the instrument. Fitted with Narrow Tall 6105 frets, this wire has a vintage vibe that allows optimal control over vibrato and string bends.

'51 Nocaster & Twisted Tele Pickups

The hand-wound Fender Custom Shop pickups installed in this instrument are very special, projecting that signature Tele tone with more clarity and charm than anything you would have ever heard before.

In the bridge position you’ve got the '51 Nocaster single-coil, renowned for its potent output and bright attack. This pickup is as close as it can get to its original counterparts from the '50s, providing the most genuine Tele sound achievable. In the neck you have the Twisted Tele pickup, which delivers a warm and rounded tone with lots of mid-range punch.

Regarding its hardware, the Fender Custom Shop '52 Telecaster Heavy Relic boasts traditional appointments to keep its old-school aesthetics intact. Featuring a Nocaster-style bridge this hardware has the classic look, feel, and tone you'd expect from a vintage-era Tele.
