Bongos & Congas

Bongos & Congas at Andertons Music Co.

Bring expressive hand percussion into your music with Bongos & Congas at Andertons Music Co. Closely associated with Afro-Cuban and Latin music, these distinctive drums have also become familiar sounds across funk, jazz, pop and countless other styles. From sharp, articulate bongo patterns to the deeper resonance of congas, they're ideal for adding rhythm, movement and a more organic percussive texture to your setup.

Bongo Drums for Crisp, Expressive Rhythms

Bongos traditionally consist of a pair of small, differently sized drums joined together and played with the hands. Their compact shells produce a bright, responsive sound that's well suited to fast rhythmic patterns, accents and improvisation. Different shell materials, drumhead types and sizes can influence their tone and playing response, with options available for beginners as well as experienced percussionists.

Conga Drums for Deep, Resonant Percussion

Larger and deeper than bongos, conga drums produce a fuller sound with plenty of tonal variation. Different hand techniques can create open tones, bass notes, slaps and muted sounds, giving players a broad rhythmic palette from a relatively simple setup. Congas can be played individually or combined in multi-drum configurations, with compatible stands helping players position their drums comfortably for performance.
