Fender Original Series Telecaster Guitars

The Fender Telecaster is one of the first mass-produced electric guitars dating back to 1954. Fender’s Original series Teles channel the spirit of their most popular models from the ‘50s and ‘60s.

The ‘50s models are based on some of the earliest Telecasters in existence. This means beautiful original-era styling and unmistakably spanky tones thanks to the Pure Vintage '52 single-coil pickups. Fender have also opted for a fat U-shape profile for that classic baseball-bat playability.

For the ‘60s models, the design was tweaked to include a vintage ‘60s C-shape neck profile and mint-green pickguards. One of the most notable appointments, however, is the use of Rosewood for the fretboards. This offers extra warmth and smoothness, particularly in higher frequencies.

All of the Original Tele models come with Nitro-Cellulose finishes, allowing the wood to breathe in a different way. This provides classic resonance and a great aging effect; it’ll change in terms of both looks and sound as it gets older, and many prefer the sound and appearance of an aged Nitro-finished guitar.
