If you have placed your order online, you will receive a confirmation email of your order and a separate follow-up text or email to confirm when your item is ready for collection.
Please do not come to the store before you have received the follow-up message, as your order may not yet be ready at the store.
If the only available stock is in our off-site warehouse it can be brought to the store location for you to try - you just need to contact the store within opening hours. Please note any requests received after 3.30pm will not arrive at the store until the following morning.
Please be aware that, unless you have paid a deposit to reserve the item, it will continue to be free, both online and in-store, for another customer to buy. Therefore we would advise you to place a 10% deposit by either using the on-line click and collect service or calling us 01483 456777.

Principal and Modulation Oscillators:
The 259t features two analogue oscillators: a Principal oscillator running at audio rates, and a Modulation oscillator with selectable low frequency or audio rate operation. The Principal oscillator outputs sine, square and a complex Final waveform shaped by the Timbre and Harmonics sections. Meanwhile, the Modulation oscillator offers multiple waveform options, a dedicated triangle output and a unipolar CV output. Each oscillator includes FM inputs, CV pitch control with attenuverter, and the choice of 1V/oct or ART control for seamless integration into Eurorack systems.
Timbre and Harmonics Sections:
The Buchla 259t’s signature tone comes from its unique waveshaping circuits, controlled via the Timbre and Harmonics sections. These feature three distinct shapers, wavefolder, ramp and pseudo square, which can be blended with the Order control. The Symmetry parameter introduces asymmetry by applying a DC offset, while the Timbre control adjusts the depth of folding. These powerful tools allow sculpting of harmonically rich and expressive waveforms that evolve dynamically with modulation.
Central Modulation & Normalisation:
At the heart of the module is a suite of modulation switches that connect the oscillators internally for immediate sound design without patch cables. These include FM and AM modulation, Timbre depth modulation and phase locking. Each connection is affected by the Mod Index control, allowing fine adjustment over modulation intensity. This thoughtful normalisation system encourages intuitive exploration, turning the 259t into a self-contained sonic laboratory ideal for both melodic and experimental synthesis.
