Based in Cambridge, UK — Great Eastern FX Co. prides itself on designing unconventional guitar pedals that offer something a bit "different". Their first stompbox, the Small Speaker Overdrive, is one such product. This dynamic, low-gain pedal emulates "small-amp-in-the-studio" tones to essentially make your big amp sound tiny — capturing the most coveted characteristics synonymous with the small-speaker, vintage valve combos used on some of the most iconic recordings of all time. It sounds punchy, dynamic, and tight!
Great Eastern FX Co. doesn't take any shortcuts with its pedals either. They use premium components selected for performance rather than price — including low-noise metal film resistors, PET film capacitors, Alpha pots and Neutrik jack sockets. The company also ships with recycled and recyclable packaging to make its pedals more eco-friendly; using local suppliers wherever possible.
In their own words, they aim to "make serious, practical tools for guitarists and producers, but never forget their primary purpose: to facilitate fun." Now that's a message we can get behind!
