Here's what Flattley say about the Bass Wah Sugar Skulls Wah Twin T Res Filter Pedal:
The Flattley Bass Wah is based on the principles of several classic Wahs that use a filter known as the “twin t resonant filter”. During development, several genuine classic Wahs were analysed to determine the characteristics that give old Wahs “that sound”. The Flattley prototype Wah pedals were tested by several experienced users of older classic Wah pedals until they were satisfied that the sound was right.
The Flattley Bass Wah is a very tight, articulate and vocal sounding Wah pedal which can handle as much gain as you want depending on your style of music. It also remains very tonal if being used clean, giving you an awesome individual expressive tone that will wow your audiences.
The Flattley Bass Wah comes with a 100K potentiometer installed which was designed and manufactured to exacting Flattley specifications and is exceptionally smooth in its operation. A standard feature with the Flattley Wah is the signature blue LED light plate which gives you full visibility on stage of the pedal’s status.
The Flattley Bass Wah comes in the “Oil Slick” hydro dipped graphics from our platinum range which will add some amazing artwork to any musician’s pedal board. There is also a gold coloured anodised aluminium locking nut on the on/off switch to add a bit more luxury to the finish of this pedal.
All Flattley “Platinum Range” pedals are hand processed in our Flattley paint shop. The bare aluminium enclosure is abraded prior to painting with the etch primer. The etch primer acts as a anti corrosive layer and allows the primer to bond to the enclosure ensuring a tough resilient paint finish.
Multiple coats of base coat primer are applied which are then lightly abraded to remove any blemishes or paint speckles prior to the application of the base colour. We apply several coats of base colour until an even coverage occurs and the base colour develops rich smooth depth.
The pedal enclosure is now ready to be hydro dipped in its Flattley graphics. This is the process whereby the graphics are applied using water activated film, the residual PVA film is then washed off and the enclosure is then allowed to dry naturally.
Once dried the lacquer process begins. Each “Flattley Platinum” pedal has a minimum of three coats of lacquer which are all wet sanded between coats. Once the lacquer has hardened, it is then hand polished using three different grades of polishing compounds and it then has a final polish to achieve a high gloss finish using a wool finishing pad. This process gives the smooth deep lustre finish that is inherent in all Flattley Guitar and Bass effects pedals.
