The Music Man StingRay is a classic bass guitar that has been used by some of the industry's leading musicians. Distinctive for its symmetrical pickguard design and single humbucker, the StingRay is adored for both its unique aesthetics and powerful, punchy sound. The Music Man Stingray Short-Scale bass takes that trusted formula and gives it the compact treatment!
With a modest 30" scale length, the Music Man StingRay Short-Scale bass offers a more manageable and playable feel; making stretches easier for the left hand. The smaller scale also gives the bass a deeper sound, which is why the StingRay Short-Scale boasts a specially-designed humbucker that features Neodymium magnets - able to project more output and power to compensate for the loss of highs.
The StingRay Short-Scale bass' electronics package includes a 3-way rotary switch featuring parallel, true single-coil, and series modes - offering a wide tonal palette. All three pickup selections’ audio signals can be augmented by a boost when engaging the push volume pot, which is perfect for accenting bass licks on-the-fly!
Roasted Maple Neck
The Roasted Maple neck doesn't only look great - it feels amazing to play too. Roasted Maple is formed by removing moisture from the material. This in turn causes the resins in the wood to harden, which not only creates a gorgeous dark colouration, but also provides increased stability and improved resistance to temperature and humidity changes. Another improvement is the stainless steel frets, which wear down far more slowly than traditional fret-wire.
