Product Description

The Fender American Professional Strat is a guitar that needs little introduction. It's got classic looks and a sound heard over countless records since the '50s. Features include V-Mod pickups, a fantastic fret design that makes bending a breeze and a comfortable tapered neck for even better playing comfort.

Professional

The American Professional range has replaced the old American Standard. Each guitar is made in Fender's Californian factory using high-end woods and hardware. Includes an official Fender hardshell case.

Pickups

The American Professional V-mod pickups have each been voiced for their individual position, rather than the same pickup put into each position as they were before. V-Mod pickups are a blend of Alnico magnet types, delivering a versatile array of crisp, sweet tones.

This model also boasts the Treble Bleed Circuit which keeps high-end frequencies pronounced even when you turn the volume control down.

Neck Shape

A new deep "C" profile neck shape combines classic '60s feel with flatter modern shoulders. The tapered neck means it’s thinner at the headstock end to play chords where you may want to get your thumb over the top to fret the E-String. The neck flattens out the higher up you go, making faster playing far more fluid.

Frets

The narrow-tall frets are ideal for big bends, reducing friction and resistance in stark contrast to some vintage frets. There's a little more room to manoeuvre because they’re slightly narrower than what you'd find on most guitars. It’s an incremental change but every little helps!

I'm a Gibson player usually - I have a Les Paul Standard Faded from 2005, which has been rewired with a '59 harness, Alnico 2 PU mags and PIO caps (it's an absolute tone monster), and is the yardstick by which I judge all other guitars. 99.9% of the time, nothing comes close. I've never really found a Stratocaster that I felt completely at ease with, or that sounded right to my Gibbo ears. But the American Pro is different. I don't know what they've done with the pickups, but there's loads of soul in them, with tons of dynamics on offer. I never thought I'd say this, but the Strat is fast becoming my favourite guitar. This guitar just sings in all PU positions. It's got a cool '60s vibe to it, but with with higher output - not too high that it loses it's classic tones, but high enough to cut through lots of high gain (if that's your thing). The neck is the new tapered C shape, which is very similar in feel to my '60s LP neck (my hands are too small for the '50s necks), so I felt right at home with it. This guitar will be a lifer for me. I need look no further.

Amazing guitar - the neck is like nothing else I’ve played - the finish is beautiful - and can’t wait to really put it through its paces Set up incredibly. Well from factory although I’ll be making some changes to suit personal playing style - but that’s nothing they could account for
