Product Description
This Fender Custom Shop 1968 LTD Edition Strat In Charcoal Frost Finish was built in 2023 and comes with its original hardcase & case candy
This awesome strat is finished in Charcoal frost with a Journeyman level of aging which gives it some wear but is much less than a relic but has the patina and a few marks of an old but well looked after used guitar.
This guitar features a trio of hand wound Bone Tone pickups which are vintage spec but with heavy formvar wire to give them a smooth top end and a bit more oomph which works really well with gain as well as it having the blender wiring to allow you to blend the neck pickup alongside the bridge using the lower tone pot. This is perfect to get either the middle position Tele sound or do the Brian May thing where you have all 3 pickups on in position 2 with the lower tone pot rolled back.
We love the 68 larger headstock as it’s a really cool Hendrix era looking guitar and makes a great change from all the regular pre cbs style headstocks.
It’s also got the box ticked to have a compound radius which is 7.25 -9.5 which means chards at the nut end are super comfy to play whilst the upper neck is easy to bend on and doesn’t choke out, a perfect balance of vintage and modern.
The neck shape is the 1969 U shape which is a smaller neck that is super comfy and is almost the perfect neck as it isn’t big or small and isn’t a millions miles off a modern C shape with slightly bigger shoulders.
This guitar as it’s in identical condition to how it was when it was built and has been really well cared for by it’s previous owner.
All in all a really cool later sixties style strat with a great set of pickups with super versatile wiring.
