Building on the amazing critical acclaim of the groundbreaking Seaboard GRAND, Roli have developed the Seaboard RISE, a compact keyboard controller. The Rise has the same revolutionary silicone keybed as the Grand, and brings some new tricks that make it the perfect keyboard controller for the studio and when out on stage.
Groundbreaking Keyboard Technology.
Like the award winning Seaboard GRAND, THe RISE uses the patented SEA Interface technology, which transforms the concept of a keyboard into a pressure-sensitive and really expressive keyboard interface. Compared to the Seaboard GRAND, the RISE has a more compact 4 octave range.
Sure, you can still play the seaboard like a regular keyboard; But you can also make the most of a wide range of subtle or not so subtle gestures that allow you to modulate the sound and take on the characteristics of another instrument.
This technology is perfect for the studio, as you can load up an instrumental patch like a saxophone from your virtual instrument library and play with the real expressiveness of a saxophone player. In the past, making your virtual instruments sound realistic took hours of programming to map the subtle nuances that a piano can't mimic. Yet with the Seaboard keybed, you can recreate the vibrato, articulation and expressiveness that make an instrument sound realistic. Instead of being engineered and artificial, it all becomes part of the performance.
5 dimensions of touch
The Seaboard RISE 49 lets music-makers control sound through Five Dimensions of Touch. This marks a progression from the piano keyboard where only one dimension of touch - Strike - controls sound.
Strike: The velocity and force with which a finger makes contact with a keywave.
Glide: Horizontal movements from side to side on a keywave or along the keywave surface.
Slide: Vertical movements up and down a keywave.
Press: The continuous pressure applied to the keywave after the initial strike.
Lift: The release velocity or speed of liftoff from a keywave.
Intuitive Midi Control
As a keyboard controller, the RISE is equipped with a range of additional controllers that you can assign to different parameters in your DAW. You get touch sensitive faders and a trackpad that you can use to personalise patches.
The Rise can be connected to your computer using the included USB connection. Yet, it can also be charged and connect to all of your devices wirelessly using the inbuilt Bluetooth connection. With a battery life of 8hrs, you can pack it up with a laptop and start recording anywhere!
