Rosewood Fretboard Electric Guitars

Rosewood belongs to the genus dalbergia and has been used to make electric guitar fretboards for decades. Popularised by guitar giants Gibson, rosewood has a gorgeously rich colour and polishes up extremely well. It takes a bit of love and care to keep clean, but it is worth investing the time into this beautifully grainy wood.

If you have a keen interest in your tonewoods and are seeking a guitar with a mellow, comforting sound, a rosewood fretboard will go a long way in fulfilling your tonal endeavours.

Since the 2017 CITES restricting the trade of rosewood, most cuts have been kept in stock for high-end premium guitars. You’ll find rosewood fingerboards equipped to guitars made by Gibson, Fender, Music Man, PRS and Duesenberg.
