Founded in 2010 by Leigh Dovey, PJD Guitars has grown from a one-man boutique, artisan luthier based in a small home workshop in London into one of the largest and most highly regarded British electric guitar manufacturers. Now based in York, PJD has continued to grow each year, offering a range of models and options to suit every type of player at any stage of their journey, from beginner to professional!

PJD Guitar Range

PJD Guitars has 2 ranges – Their flagship, handmade in the UK Custom Shop range, featuring premium tonewoods, hardware and electronics, all meticulously built to the highest standards. In addition to their Origin Series, which takes the core boutique feel of their UK-built Custom Shop range but builds them in the East, offering players at any stage a Custom Shop quality guitar at a price that won't bust the bank!

PJD’s Six Core Models

PJD offers 6 core models – the Carey, which takes influence from one of the most famous single-cut electric guitars ever produced. The St John is PJD's tribute to the offset guitars of the late ‘50s and ‘60s, while the York is a reimagining of the world's first solid-body electric guitar, often featuring a vintage-style 3-saddle bridge and single-coil pickups.  The Romulus features an ergonomic double-cut body shape, 24 frets and high-gain pickups, making it the perfect option for more technical modern players and styles. The Woodford is their versatile S-type model, and the Valhalla is an alternative boutique-styled offset featuring elegant cutaways and contours.

Within their models, PJD also offers Classic, Standard, Vintage, Apprentice and Elite lines, each taking a slightly different approach to each of their models, ensuring there's a PJD fit for every player’s needs. The Origin Series also has a Pro range, which pushes the Origin Series even closer to PJD's UK-made Custom Shop guitars thanks to their stunning premium figured tops!
