Product Description

First introduced in 1942, the J-45 is Gibson's best-selling acoustic of all time, earning it the nickname "The Workhorse". The iconic acoustic has been the flagship model in Gibson's illustrious round-shoulder dreadnought line since it's inception, renowned for it's balanced sound, excellent projection and warm bass. The Gibson J-45 50s Faded honours the legacy of the original workhorse acoustic, ready to inspire a new generation of players.

Sporting a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, the J-45 50s Faded has the look and feel of a well-loved vintage instrument. Built on the tried and tested foundation of a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, it has a rich, full-bodied tone that is undeniably vintage. The Mahogany neck has a rounded profile, adding to the vintage feel, and is topped with a silky smooth Rosewood fingerboard. The J-45 comes fitted with a market-leading LR Baggs VTC under saddle pickup for vibrant, natural sounding amplification, with controls for volume and tone hidden inside the soundhole. Other premium appointments include Gotoh white button tuners, bone nut and a hardshell case.

Key Features

  • Classic Tonewoods - The tonewood pairing of Sitka Spruce and Mahogany has long been favoured by guitar manufactures and players. It yields a balanced sound with plenty of top end sparkle and a healthy amount of low end.
  • LR Baggs VTC Pickup - LR Baggs are widely considered to be one of the best manufactures of acoustic pickups in the business. The VTC takes the natural sound of the guitar and makes it louder. Simple!
  • Round-Shouldered Jumbo Body - Offers superb playability whilst projecting plenty of volume. Ideal for flat pickers and fingerpickers alike!
  • Gotoh White Button Tuners - Offer excellent tuning stability whilst maintaining the vintage look of the guitar.
  • Hardshell Case - Offers top notch protection against bumps dings when it's time to hit the road!
