Dual Overdrive & Distortion Pedals

For guitarists font of getting their gain tones from pedals, the concept of gain stacking probably isn't a new one. Gain stacking allows you more flexibility in your sound to sculp your tone, add more gain or more volume. Dual overdrives are often specifically voiced to compliment each other, and they take up a small footprint and less power demands than two separate pedals!

Some dual overdrive pedals will use a normal gainstage and a boost such as Thorpy "The Dane" or the DSM & Humboldt Silver Linings, others will use the two of the same circuit to further saturate your tone, like the Tone City King of Blues. Commonly dual overdrives will combine two different circuits, like the Ceriatone Horsebreaker or Browne Amplification Protein.
