Product Description
The EP–40 RIDDIM is an expressive sampler, sequencer, and live performance workstation inspired by the heartbeat of reggae and dub culture. Building on the proven foundation of the EP-133 K.O. II, this next-generation instrument infuses modern production with the warmth and groove of classic Jamaican sound systems. It delivers tightly synchronised sequencing, grid-locked loops, and pressure-sensitive control for shaping sound in real time. At its core lies a library of over 300 handcrafted instruments and samples created in collaboration with celebrated reggae producers, offering everything from deep, rolling basslines to crisp skanks, percussion, and dub sirens. When combined with the EP–2350 TING, artists can drop vocals, trigger effects, or echo out to infinity—true to the spirit of live dub mixing. Compact, battery-powered, and ready for the dance, the EP–40 RIDDIM keeps the roots alive while pushing performance into the future.
Features
- Authentic Reggae and Dub Sound Engine:
Packed with over 300 handcrafted instruments and samples from renowned reggae producers, including classic bass, keys, percussion, and dub siren tones. - Expressive Live Performance Control:
Nine pressure-sensitive pads and a responsive fader let you remix, trigger and filter sounds in true sound system style, live or in the studio. - Seamless Integration and Portability:
Features stereo inputs and outputs, MIDI I/O, sync options and USB-C power, giving you studio-grade connectivity wherever you perform.
Evolution from the K.O. II Platform:
The EP–40 RIDDIM builds on the respected architecture of the EP-133 K.O. II, refining its workflow for the live dub and reggae scene. While it retains the same reliable sampling core and compact form, it expands the sound palette with bass-heavy tones, rhythm loops, and authentic reggae textures. The interface has been tuned for hands-on control, ideal for drop-ins, echo sweeps, and filter play—hallmarks of dub performance. The addition of the EP–2350 TING microphone enhances live interaction, allowing artists to call, chant, and echo their voice through classic reggae-style effects while keeping perfect sync with beats and sequences.
Roots Performance and Dub Expression:
The RIDDIM captures the essence of live Jamaican mixing, where every twist and fader move becomes part of the groove. Its responsive pads and tactile fader make it easy to perform with energy and precision, whether dropping samples, layering loops, or sending signals through delay and reverb. Designed for sound system artists and producers alike, it invites playful improvisation and deep dub experimentation. Every sound—from hi-hats to horn stabs—feels alive under your fingertips, ready to echo, fade and pulse in rhythm with the crowd.
Portable Power for the Dance:
Built to travel from studio to sound clash, the EP–40 RIDDIM is compact, durable, and powered by either USB-C or four AAA batteries. Its robust stereo output ensures rich, clean sound through headphones or full systems, while MIDI and sync keep external gear perfectly timed. The lightweight design makes it ideal for mobile setups, outdoor sessions, or quick jams wherever inspiration hits. Combining portability with professional audio quality, it embodies the spirit of reggae innovation—simple, soulful, and ready to move the dancefloor.
