Product Description
The Sire P7 Alder 5 New Gen in Sunshine Yellow is a modern workhorse 5 string bass that blends classic P style punch with J style articulation, wrapped up in a slick, stage ready finish. Built from the ground up using player feedback from previous V7, V7 Vintage and P7 generations, it delivers a faster neck, richer electronics and practical upgrades that make life easier both live and in the studio.
With its North American alder body, New Gen C shape neck and Marcus Super PJ Revolution pickups feeding the Marcus Heritage 3 preamp, this bass is designed to cover everything from tight, vintage inspired thump to bright, contemporary slap and everything in between. Stainless steel frets, lightweight tuners and Lumiinlay position markers complete a specification that feels far above its price point.
Refined New Gen Neck
The New Gen C shape neck has been carefully reworked for easier playing, giving you a comfortable, familiar feel that suits both thumb over and more classical left hand positions. Edgeless rolled fretboard edges help the neck disappear in your hand, making fast lines, wide stretches and long sets feel noticeably less fatiguing.
Updated Controls for Real World Use
Sire have simplified the control layout for smoother knob operation and removed the coil tap switch, making it quicker and more intuitive to dial in your sound. The Marcus Heritage 3 preamp still offers deep tone shaping with its powerful three band EQ and sweepable mid control, while the active passive mini toggle lets you switch voicings on the fly without overcomplicating the panel.
Improved Visibility on Dark Stages
Lumiinlay dot position markers give you far better visibility when the lights go down, helping you keep your bearings on dimly lit stages or in the pit. Combined with bold block inlays and clean binding, the P7 Alder 5 New Gen looks sharp under the lights and stays practical when you need it most.
Durable Hardware and Expressive Tone
Stainless steel frets offer a smooth feel and long lasting durability, ideal for players who gig regularly or use roundwound strings. Lightweight aluminium style tuners help keep the overall weight manageable while maintaining solid tuning stability. At the heart of the sound, the Marcus Super PJ Revolution pickup set delivers a richer, more expressive voice, from deep, authoritative lows on the P pickup to defined, growling bridge tones on the J pickup.
Features
- New Gen C Shape Neck with Edgeless Fretboard - The updated C shape profile and rolled Edgeless fretboard edges create a fast, comfortable playing surface that reduces hand fatigue and makes complex lines, chords and extended sets feel more effortless.
- Marcus Super PJ Revolution Pickups and Heritage 3 Preamp - The redesigned pickups provide a richer, more expressive PJ voice, while the Marcus Heritage 3 preamp with sweepable mid control lets you sculpt everything from vintage warmth to modern clarity, with an active passive mini toggle for instant tonal flexibility.
- Stainless Steel Frets and Lightweight Tuners - Medium stainless frets offer a smooth feel and exceptional longevity, standing up to heavy playing and frequent bending, while premium lightweight open gear tuners help balance the bass and keep tuning rock solid.
- Lumiinlay Position Markers and Striking Sunshine Yellow Finish - Lumiinlay dots enhance visibility in dark environments so you can navigate the neck with confidence, and the bold Sunshine Yellow finish with black pickguard and block inlays ensures you stand out visually as much as you do sonically.
