Product Description
The Shure PGA81-XLR is a professional cardioid condenser instrument microphone designed to capture the natural character of your acoustic instruments with clarity and precision. With its flat frequency response, focused pickup pattern and rugged Shure build quality, it is ideal for detailed live performance and studio recording of acoustic guitars, strings, percussion and more.
Featuring an updated low-profile black finish, the PGA81-XLR looks as good as it sounds, sitting discreetly on stage or in the studio. Supplied with a stand adapter, zippered pouch and XLR to XLR cable, it is ready to plug straight into your mixer or audio interface. Phantom power is required for operation.
Clear, Natural Acoustic Reproduction
The PGA81-XLR uses a flat-response condenser capsule that is voiced specifically for acoustic instruments. Rather than hyping particular frequencies, it delivers a balanced, honest sound that lets the true tone of your instrument come through. This makes it a strong choice for players and engineers who want accurate capture that sits easily in a mix without heavy EQ.
Focused Cardioid Pickup Pattern
With its cardioid polar pattern, the PGA81-XLR concentrates on the sound directly in front of the microphone while helping to reject unwanted noise from the sides and rear. On a busy stage or in a reflective room, this helps keep your instrument clear and present, reducing spill from other sources and improving gain before feedback.
Stage Ready Design
The updated industrial design with a black metallic finish and grille gives the PGA81-XLR a smart, unobtrusive look that blends into any stage or studio setup. It is built to Shure’s exacting standards, so it can handle the knocks and demands of regular gigging and rehearsal while delivering consistent performance night after night.
Complete, Plug In And Go Package
The PGA81-XLR comes supplied with a stand adapter for precise positioning, a zippered pouch for protection during storage or transport, and a 4.57 m XLR to XLR cable. With the essentials included in the box, you can get up and running quickly with minimal extra accessories required, whether you are heading to a session or setting up for a show.
