If the only available stock is in our off-site warehouse it can be brought to the store location for you to try - you just need to contact the store within opening hours. Please note any requests received after 3.30pm will not arrive at the store until the following morning.

Product Description
The Martin J-16E 12-string is a vintage-inspired beaut of an acoustic with the easy playing of a modern design, from the classy finish to the bold voicing perfect for strummers. The 16 Series combines traditional Martin build quality and premium tonewoods with modern versatility, hardware and electronics so you’re getting best of both worlds: gorgeous old golden age acoustic style with the contemporary comforts suited to recording and performance.
Stunning woods and 12-string jumbo shape
Jumbos are big guitars, and the J-16E has a new characterful sound to match. The signature chime of a 12-string sounds incredible when blended in with the rumbling bass of the Martin jumbo shape, filling all frequencies to make for both a brilliant rhythm and solo instrument. This acoustic has projection in spades with a richness and overtones laced within thanks to an East Indian rosewood back and sides and a lovely glossy spruce top providing the direct sound.
Volume and top-end frequencies are no issue for the 12-string J-16E, which makes it an excellent choice for large ensemble players and commanding strummers. The scalloped X-bracing only enhances that presence and sustain making for a full, dynamic sound.
Modern playing feel
A big benefit of the J-16E’s modern appointments is how effortless it feels to play. The modified low oval neck shape and a high performance taper as you travel up the fingerboard feels seamless – at no point do you feel like you’re fighting to fret any chords regardless of chord shape.
Vintage style and pro-grade electronics
The J-16E looks the part too in an understated traditional design boasting a luxurious ebony fretboard, tortoiseshell pickguard and the classy framing of antique white body binding and detailed rosette binding, sure to fit any style you’ve got going on.
The L.R. Baggs electronics makes the J-16E an extremely versatile instrument for a quick, easy and great sounding setup when plugging into a PA system or laying down demo tracks hooked directly into an interface.
