Kala Nomad U-BASS Electro Acoustic Bass Ukulele

The Kala Nomad Mahogany U-BASS is a compact electro acoustic bass ukulele that delivers a surprisingly deep, full-bodied low end in a travel friendly size. With its warm mahogany construction, punchy round wound strings and built in active EQ, it is equally at home on the sofa, in the studio or on stage, giving you a proper bass voice without the bulk of a full sized instrument.

Designed for players who are always on the move, the Nomad U-BASS offers a rugged, no nonsense build that can handle life on the road while still providing a professional playing experience. The short 20.8125 inch scale keeps everything comfortable and approachable, yet the tone remains rich, defined and powerful enough to anchor any acoustic jam or plug in performance.

The combination of a satin finished mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard and Kala round wound strings creates a tactile, responsive feel under the fingers. The built in U-BASS Active EQ and tuner make it easy to dial in your sound and stay in tune, so you can focus on playing rather than your gear. Whether you are a bassist looking for a portable solution or a ukulele player wanting to explore the low end, the Nomad is a practical and inspiring choice.

With a padded gig bag included, you can take the Nomad U-BASS anywhere, knowing you have a compact instrument that still delivers a convincing, musical bass tone whenever inspiration strikes.

Portable Powerhouse Bass

The Nomad U-BASS is all about delivering a deep, bass rich sound in a body that is easy to carry and comfortable to play. Its overall length of just under 30 inches and compact body dimensions make it ideal for travel, rehearsals and small stages, while still providing enough acoustic volume and projection to be heard.

Warm Mahogany Construction

With mahogany used for the top, back, sides and neck, the Nomad produces a warm, earthy tone that flatters everything from simple root notes to more melodic bass lines. Mahogany naturally emphasises the low mids, giving your sound a pleasing thickness and musical warmth that sits beautifully alongside acoustic guitars and ukuleles.

Punchy Round Wound Strings

Fitted with Kala round wound metal strings, this U-BASS offers a more familiar bass guitar feel under the fingers, along with clear note definition and extra attack. The strings help the instrument cut through a mix, making each note articulate and precise, whether you are playing fingerstyle grooves or more percussive lines.

Stage Ready Electronics

The onboard U-BASS Active EQ, powered by a 9v battery, lets you plug straight into an amp or PA and shape your tone to suit the room. With the integrated tuner, you can quickly check your tuning between songs without needing extra pedals or accessories, making the Nomad a convenient, self contained solution for live performance.
