ThorpyFX Field Marshal Fuzz Pedal

The best fuzz I've ever tried. It does (almost) every type of fuzz sound I am after to a very high level. Turn the guitar volume knob down and it cleans up beautifully. It lacks an Octave up circuit but there are still loads of upper harmonics available so is within touching distance. Awesome sounds. Very sturdy housing. The most robust pedal in my collection. Awesome. Everyone has a different take on fuzz but love this. Loads of usable sounds, particularly like setting it just on the verge of getting really spitty and then kicking in the cheese. Great distortion sound but doesn't sustain like a big ****. Great build all I can say I'm having loads of fun with it.

A great fuzz tone and a thing of beauty. I thought it had a fault (turned out to be being daft) but within an hour of me contacting ThorpyFX for support Thorpy himself was on the phone to me helping out - couldn't possibly ask for more.

Thorpy FX Field Marshal Fuzz pedal review The search is over - This one does it all, and works with any amp! I was looking for a certain sound, a slightly broken and clipping fuzz, but one that played nicely into an already dirty amp. Many fuzz pedals work best into clean channels, because gain into gain ends up losing lots of definition and basically gets noisy and messy - THIS ONE DOESN’T! My setup is a Victory Kraken running two gainey channels - first channel breaks up quite early but doesn’t have searing gain - so it’s a perfect rhythm channel with plenty of omph. However - most fuzz pedals I tried (think I’ve been thru 7!) have all gotten lost in the mix in a band situation, or their fuzziness just gets washed out when added to an already gain based channel. This ThorpyFX Field Marshal does an amazing job of keeping the clarity of signal right up front - although you can temper it down as well, it’s just so versatile! The other two toggle switch positions give less of the clipping stuttering fuzz, and more of a straight distortion, with either mids or mids scooped - you have so many options - and the second footswitchable side works as either a boosted or tempered version of the core sound (the volume of it is ‘relative’ to the master volume, so can be set to be higher or lower, hard to explain, but once you have it in hand, it’s very intuitive) Can’t recommend this enough, built to be bomb proof, and its the best looking pedal on my board! Also, can vouch for Adrian Thorpe’s customer service ethos - as he personally helped me find out why the Fallout Cloud pedal didn’t seem to work for my amp setup, and talked me through in detail how to dial in the right setup with his pedals. The fallout cloud is amazing too, but just didn’t play as nicely with my core amp sound, so here we are with the Field Marshal, and I couldn’t be happier!

A wonderful pedal. Having just one fuzz on my board has always felt like a compromise, but this covers a lot of ground and in a really practical, user friendly way. The fact that you can use the tone-stack bypass switch as a level boost is icing on an already delicious cake.

Everything people are saying about this pedal is true. Quieter on stand-by than other fuzzes I’ve tried... Versatile fuzz- I’m obsessed with the velcro-y starved fuzz sound I can get with it!
