Gretsch Catalina Maple Acoustic Drum Kit in Black Stardust

The Gretsch Catalina Maple Acoustic Drum Kit in Black Stardust is a stylish, versatile shell pack that delivers the classic warmth and punch Gretsch are known for. With 7 ply maple shells, 30 degree bearing edges and high quality hardware throughout, this kit offers a focused attack, musical resonance and a sleek modern look that works just as well under stage lights as it does in the studio.

Balancing traditional Gretsch construction with contemporary appointments, the Catalina Maple is designed to be a reliable workhorse for gigging drummers and recording players alike. The compact 20 inch bass drum and matching maple snare make it ideal for everything from small club stages to home studios, while the Black Stardust finish and chrome hardware give it a premium aesthetic that stands out without being over the top.

Each drum in the configuration has been carefully matched to provide a balanced, adaptable voice. The 10 and 12 inch rack toms offer articulate, cutting tones, the 14 inch floor tom brings depth and body, and the bass drum delivers a tight, controlled low end that sits perfectly in a mix. Factory fitted Remo heads mean the kit is ready to tune up and play straight away, with a sound that can be tailored easily to a wide range of genres.

Thoughtful hardware details, such as the vintage inspired gas cap bass drum mount and included double tom holder, make setting up straightforward and stable. Combined with triple flanged steel hoops and modern chrome fittings, the Catalina Maple provides dependable performance and tuning stability, session after session.

Classic Gretsch Maple Tone

Built from 7 ply maple, the Catalina Maple shells produce a warm, full bodied sound with a focused attack and plenty of sustain. Maple responds well across a wide dynamic range, so whether you are playing softly with brushes or laying into the kit with sticks, the drums remain musical and controlled.

Iconic 30 Degree Bearing Edges

Gretsch’s traditional 30 degree bearing edges help create the brand’s signature sound, combining a rounded, warm fundamental with clear definition. These edges allow the heads to seat consistently, improving tuning stability and giving each drum a smooth, expressive response that works in both live and studio environments.

Modern Hardware with Vintage Flair

2.3 mm triple flanged steel hoops and chrome hardware provide a clean, contemporary look while supporting reliable tuning and a natural, open tone. The gas cap style bass drum mount nods to classic Gretsch designs, offering a vintage aesthetic touch alongside practical, secure tom positioning.

Versatile, Gig Ready Sizes

The 20 x 16 inch bass drum, 10 x 7 and 12 x 8 inch rack toms, 14 x 14 inch floor tom and 14 x 5.5 inch snare drum form a compact yet powerful setup. This configuration covers a wide range of styles, from jazz and funk through to pop and rock, making it a flexible choice for drummers who need one kit to handle multiple musical situations.
