Product Description
The Gretsch Catalina Club Acoustic Drum Kit in Satin Antique Fade is a compact, vintage-inspired jazz set that delivers warm, punchy tones and classic looks in an easy to manage footprint. Centred around 7 ply mahogany shells with a 30 degree bearing edge, this kit is built to give you that unmistakable Gretsch sound with rich lows, smooth mids and a musical, controlled top end.
With an 18 inch bass drum, 12 inch rack tom, 14 inch floor tom and matching 14 inch snare, the Catalina Club configuration is ideal for jazz, blues, small club gigs, rehearsals and any situation where you want a responsive, dynamic kit that will not overpower the room. The satin lacquer finish and chrome hardware complete the look, making this a kit that sounds as good as it looks.
Whether you are stepping up from a first kit or looking for a portable second setup, the Catalina Club offers a genuine Gretsch playing experience at a highly accessible price point. The GTS free swinging tom mount keeps your rack tom open and resonant, while the included bass drum riser ensures optimal beater placement with modern pedals on the shallower 18 inch shell.
Classic Mahogany Gretsch Tone
The 7 ply mahogany shells provide the warm, rounded character that Gretsch Catalina Club kits are known for. Mahogany naturally emphasises low and low mid frequencies, giving the bass drum a satisfying thump and the toms a full, musical note that sits perfectly in a mix. Combined with the 30 degree bearing edges, the result is a kit that feels controlled and vintage voiced, ideal for jazz and roots styles.
Compact Jazz Configuration
The 18 x 14 inch bass drum, 12 x 8 inch rack tom, 14 x 14 inch floor tom and 14 x 5.5 inch snare drum form a classic jazz style setup that is easy to transport and quick to set up on tight stages. The smaller diameters respond beautifully at lower and medium volumes, with fast, articulate attack and plenty of tone, making this an excellent choice for club dates, acoustic sessions and practice spaces.
GTS Free Swinging Tom Support
Gretsch GTS free swinging tom support system mounts the rack tom without drilling extra hardware into the shell, allowing it to resonate more freely. This helps preserve sustain and tone, giving you a more open, lively sound from the 12 inch tom. It also offers flexible positioning so you can dial in a comfortable playing setup without compromising the drum’s voice.
Satin Antique Fade Finish and Chrome Hardware
The Satin Antique Fade finish gives the kit a refined, vintage aesthetic, with the matte lacquer allowing the natural beauty of the wood to show through. Paired with chrome hardware and 1.6 mm hoops, the overall look is classic and understated, suitable for any stage or studio environment. The finish is designed to age gracefully, complementing the timeless sound of the mahogany shells.
