Gretsch Catalina Club Acoustic Drum Kit in Sahara Sparkle

The Gretsch Catalina Club Acoustic Drum Kit in Sahara Sparkle is a compact, vintage-inspired jazz set that delivers warm, punchy tones and classic Gretsch vibe in a highly portable format. With 100 percent mahogany shells, a responsive 18 inch kick and matching 14 inch snare, this kit is tailor-made for small stages, rehearsal rooms and studio sessions where musicality and character matter more than sheer volume.

Centred around a traditional 18 x 14 inch bass drum, the Catalina Club configuration gives you a focused, controlled low end that sits beautifully in a mix without overpowering the room. The 12 x 8 inch rack tom and 14 x 14 inch floor tom provide a smooth, musical spread of tuning options, while the 14 x 5.5 inch snare offers a crisp crack with plenty of body. Finished in a high-gloss Sahara Sparkle lacquer with chrome hardware, it looks every bit as classy as it sounds.

Seven-ply mahogany shells and Gretsch’s 30 degree bearing edges are at the heart of the Catalina Club sound, delivering that familiar warm, rounded tone with a quick, musical response. Whether you are playing jazz, soul, blues or stripped-back pop, the kit responds sensitively at lower dynamics yet still has enough punch when you dig in. The included GTS free-swinging tom mount and bass drum riser ensure the drums are positioned comfortably and allowed to resonate freely.

Designed as a complete shell pack for players who value feel, tone and portability, the Catalina Club in Sahara Sparkle is ideal for gigging drummers, educators, and anyone looking to add a compact, great-sounding acoustic kit to their line-up.

Classic Compact Jazz Configuration

This 18/12/14/14 setup is a tried-and-tested jazz configuration that keeps your footprint small while still covering a wide range of musical styles. The compact sizes make it easy to fit on tight stages and in smaller vehicles, while still giving you enough tonal spread for everything from intimate trio gigs to amplified band settings.

Warm 100 Percent Mahogany Shells

The seven-ply mahogany shells provide a naturally warm, rounded tone with a smooth low end and controlled highs. This makes the kit particularly well suited to styles where musicality and blend are key, helping your drums sit comfortably under acoustic instruments and vocals.

Gretsch 30 Degree Bearing Edges

Gretsch’s signature 30 degree bearing edges enhance shell contact with the head, giving a slightly softer attack and a more vintage-style response. This translates into easier tuning, a fuller fundamental note and a pleasing, musical sustain across the whole kit.

GTS Free-Swinging Tom Mount and Bass Drum Riser

The GTS tom mounting system supports the 12 inch rack tom without drilling into the shell, allowing it to resonate more freely for improved tone and sustain. The included bass drum riser lifts the 18 inch kick so your pedal beater strikes the centre of the head, maximising punch and feel while keeping your playing position comfortable.

• Compact 18 Inch Jazz Shell Pack - The 18 x 14 inch kick, 12 x 8 inch rack tom, 14 x 14 inch floor tom and 14 x 5.5 inch snare give you a classic jazz-style setup that is easy to transport and perfect for smaller stages, rehearsals and studio work.
• Seven-Ply 100 Percent Mahogany Shells - All shells are crafted from 100 percent mahogany in a seven-ply construction, delivering warm lows, smooth mids and a controlled top end that suits jazz, blues, soul and laid-back pop.
• 30 Degree Bearing Edges with GTS Mount - The 30 degree bearing edges provide a round, musical tone and easy tuning, while the GTS free-swinging tom support system lets the rack tom resonate naturally without additional shell hardware.
