MIDI Keyboards & Controllers

A MIDI keyboard or controller is a device that generates MIDI (Music Instrument Digital Interface) signals when played, enabling control over various instruments or music software from brands such as Ableton, Steinberg, Avid Technology and Bitwig to note a few.

What is MIDI?

Introduced in the early '80s by Roland's Kakehashi and Dave Smith, MIDI became a universal musical language. Today, MIDI keyboards are essential for controlling computers, synths & workstations, drum machines, samplers and other instruments and sometimes resemble that of a keyboard or piano - most MIDI Keyboards and Controllers now combine both so you can control your setup to new heights.

The tactile feel of physical keys, knobs, and pads offers a superior experience over a mouse. If you're looking to enhance your music production, a MIDI keyboard is a must-have.

Additionally, brands like Korg, Roland, Arturia, and Behringer offer versatile MIDI controllers. Drummer? Most electronic drums can also be used to record MIDI into your system!
