Chimes

Chimes at Andertons Music Co.

Add shimmering textures and atmospheric accents to your percussion setup with Chimes at Andertons Music Co. Known for their bright, cascading sound, percussion chimes can bring movement and colour to everything from live performances and studio recordings to percussion ensembles and more ambient musical settings. Their distinctive sound makes them an effective choice for transitions, accents and subtle layers within a performance.

Percussion & Bar Chimes

Bar chimes typically feature a series of suspended metal bars that produce cascading notes when swept with the hand or a suitable beater. Different numbers and sizes of bars can influence the range, density and character of the resulting sound, with options ranging from compact chimes to larger multi-bar instruments. They're easy to incorporate alongside drums and other percussion instruments without taking over your existing setup.

Chimes for Music, Performance & Sound Exploration

Chimes can be used across a wide variety of musical environments, from acoustic performances and orchestral percussion to studio production and experimental music. Their sustained, shimmering character also makes certain chimes particularly suited to meditation, relaxation and sound-based practices. With different materials, tunings and constructions available depending on the instrument, there's plenty of scope to explore different tonal colours.
