Birch & Maple Hybrid Drum Shells

At the heart of the Mapex Armory Series are 8-ply, 7.55mm birch/maple/birch hybrid shells. Combining these two classic drum tonewoods creates a versatile sound with plenty of punch, resonance and clear projection. This hybrid approach gives Armory its own character within the wider Mapex drum range, making it a strong choice for players who need an adaptable acoustic kit capable of handling a variety of musical styles.

SONIClear Technology & Versatile Configurations

Armory shells feature Mapex SONIClear bearing edges, designed to increase contact between the drumhead and shell for easier tuning, a strong fundamental pitch and an expanded tuning range. The range also includes configurations such as Fusion, Studioease and Rock, giving drummers options ranging from compact, responsive setups to larger kits with additional power and presence.
