Fender American Professional Telecaster Guitars

The Fender American Professional Telecaster is the ultimate working musician’s electric guitar made in the USA, representing the best of both legendary style and contemporary playability. It’s the classic shape you know and love kitted out with modern updates to make it feel as easy to play as possible, all the while channelling the sound of the iconic twangy instrument through reimagined V-Mod III pickups.

V-Mod III Tele pickups

Fender and renowned pickup guru Tim Shaw have redesigned their line of V-Mod Tele single-coil pickups as part of the third iteration of the Vintage Modern series. Each pickup is voiced for its specific position in the neck, middle or bridge. These are crisp, articulate and woody sounding pickups that celebrate the vintage Tele tone. The push/push switch activates the neck and bridge single-coils in series to fatten up the sound to something you wouldn’t usually find from your traditional Telecaster.

You’ve also got the option of the Hotshot model, adding a Stratocaster pickup into the middle position for you to combine and beef up your tone. You can always set it to the middle single-coil for your classic clear, bright Strat tone – just in a Strat!

Playing feel updates

American Professional Telecasters are equipped with Super-Natural satin finish maple necks for silky smooth movement. Rolled fretboard edges bring a satisfying “played-in” feel, while a bevelled neck plate and sculpted neck heel edge grant unfettered access to the upper frets for easy soloing. The range comes as standard with a deep “C” neck profile filling out your hand as you move up the neck, as well as narrow tall frets for a contemporary feel with a touch of vintage to help you with expressive bends and quick chord changes.

Updated ClassicGear Ash Tray bridge

The new Telecaster bridge sports ClassicGear Compensated Brass Bullet saddles, which are their most comfortable Tele saddles yet for the picking hand. Retaining classic brass-saddle tone, they provide excellent intonation and flexible setup options, allowing you to tailor the tension and tone of each string to your liking. Strings can be top-loaded for reduced tension, inviting a mellower twang and springy attack.
