FGN Guitars

As manufacturers for some of the biggest names in the guitar industry, FGN (FujiGen) are rapidly earning a rock-solid reputation as a world-class instrument brand known for their keen focus on tone and playability. FGN guitars are suited to a wide range of genres; lending themselves particularly well to blues, rock, country, and shred.

History of FGN Guitars

Based in Japan, FGN has been making stringed musical instruments — initially violins and classical guitars — since 1960. In 1962, they started producing electric guitars and by the 1970s, FGN were building instruments for worldwide brands including Ibanez, Antoria, Greco, and Yamaha. After working with Roland on guitar synthesizers in the late '70s, FGN switched their focus to primarily concentrate on solid-body guitars and soon began making their own pickups in 1981.

The FGN Range

The FGN catalogue covers a wide variety of guitars and basses incorporating a range of innovative features while keeping a traditional feel in mind. All FGN guitars and basses utilise their proprietary 'Circle Fretting System' (C.F.S.), which aims to provide better pitch and articulation compared to conventional instruments. The frets are installed in a slightly curved shape to ensure that each string crosses every fret at a 90-degree angle, requiring the minimum of contact of a string against the fret as well as maintaining the scale length of each string. This provides you with clear articulation and tone for chordal playing as well as clarity for single notes.
