Product Description
The Sire V7 Alder-5 New Gen in Tobacco Sunburst is a modern, gig-ready jazz-style five-string bass that blends classic looks with thoughtful upgrades. Built around Sire and Marcus Miller’s acclaimed V7 platform, this latest generation focuses on easier playability, a cleaner control layout and rock-solid reliability, making it a superb choice for players who need a versatile workhorse for stage, studio and practice.
At the heart of the V7 Alder-5 New Gen is Sire’s updated neck design, complete with Edgeless rolled fretboard edges and stainless steel frets for a smooth, fast feel that stands up to years of playing. The refined active preamp with simple four-knob layout and active/passive switching gives you instant access to a wide range of tones, from vintage-flavoured passive sounds to punchy, modern active voices, all with minimal fuss. Finished in a timeless Tobacco Sunburst, it looks as good as it feels and sounds.
Whether you are laying down tight R&B grooves, bright slap lines or deep, supportive rock lines, the V7 Alder-5 New Gen delivers the clarity, comfort and control you need, all at a price that makes professional performance more accessible than ever.
New Gen Neck for Effortless Playability
The V7 Alder-5 New Gen features Sire’s updated neck profile, designed using feedback from real players. The comfortable C-shape, 34-inch scale and Edgeless rolled fretboard edges combine to create a neck that feels broken-in from day one, reducing hand fatigue on long sets and making position shifts feel natural and controlled.
Refined Active/Passive Preamp
Sire have streamlined the electronics with a simple four-knob layout and a push/pull control for active/passive switching. By removing the coil tap switch and focusing on intuitive controls, you get quick access to a wide palette of tones without overthinking your settings, perfect when you need to adapt your sound mid-song or between genres.
Stainless Steel Frets for Long-Term Reliability
Stainless steel frets offer exceptional durability and a smooth, glassy feel under the fingers. They resist wear far better than traditional fretwire, helping your V7 Alder-5 maintain accurate intonation and a slick playing surface even after countless gigs, rehearsals and recording sessions.
Classic Look with Modern Comfort
The Sire S-style body shape in Tobacco Sunburst delivers a familiar, classic aesthetic while remaining well-balanced and comfortable on a strap or on your lap. Combined with the hard maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, it offers a responsive, resonant platform that translates your playing dynamics with clarity and authority.
