Product Description
The Sire V7 Alder-5 New Gen is a modern, pro-spec jazz-style five-string bass that keeps the spirit of the original V7 while refining everything players loved about it. With an updated neck for smoother playability, a simplified yet powerful preamp, and durable stainless steel frets, this is a workhorse instrument built for serious gigging, studio sessions and home recording alike.
Under the hands, the V7 Alder-5 New Gen feels fast, comfortable and familiar, with Sire’s renowned rolled fingerboard edges making long sets and intricate lines far less tiring. Plugged in, the updated electronics deliver a wide range of usable tones, from classic passive warmth to punchy, articulate active sounds, all controlled from an intuitive four-knob layout. It is a bass designed to get out of your way and let you focus on the music.
The Tidepool finish gives this model a distinctive stage presence, while the alder body and maple neck combination keeps the tone balanced, responsive and ready for any genre. Whether you are laying down tight grooves, exploring extended-range lines on the low B, or switching between styles in a single set, the V7 Alder-5 New Gen is built to keep up.
Updated New Gen Neck
The V7 Alder-5 New Gen features Sire’s updated neck profile and construction, designed directly from player feedback. The comfortable shape, combined with Sire’s Edgeless rolled fingerboard edges, makes position shifts feel effortless and reduces hand fatigue during long rehearsals and gigs. It is a neck that feels broken-in from day one, inspiring confidence and precision across all five strings.
Simplified, Versatile Preamp
The revised preamp layout removes the coil tap switch in favour of a clean, four-knob control scheme with a push/pull for active or passive operation. This keeps the front of the bass uncluttered and intuitive, letting you move quickly between sounds without overthinking your settings. In passive mode you get classic, organic tones, while active mode adds extra punch, clarity and headroom for cutting through dense mixes.
Stainless Steel Frets
Stainless steel frets offer exceptional durability and a smooth, glassy feel under the fingers. They resist wear far better than traditional fretwire, helping your V7 Alder-5 New Gen stay in top playing condition for years of regular use. The slick surface also makes bends, vibrato and fast runs feel more controlled and consistent across the neck.
Stage Ready Style and Playability
With its Tidepool finish and classic jazz-inspired silhouette, the V7 Alder-5 New Gen looks every bit as professional as it sounds. The comfortable body contouring, balanced weight and thoughtful ergonomics make it a reliable choice for long sets, while the five-string layout gives you the extended low range modern players demand.
Features
- New Gen Neck with Rolled Fingerboard Edges - The updated neck profile and Sire’s Edgeless rolled fingerboard edges provide a broken-in feel straight out of the box, making fast lines, stretches and position shifts more comfortable and reducing fatigue over long playing sessions.
- Refined Active/Passive Preamp - A streamlined four-knob layout with push/pull active/passive switching gives you quick access to both classic passive warmth and powerful active tones, so you can adapt instantly to different songs, styles and venues.
- Stainless Steel Frets - Hard-wearing stainless steel frets deliver long-term durability and a smooth playing surface, helping your bass maintain accurate intonation and a consistent feel even after years of regular gigging and practice.
- Five-String Versatility - The extended low range of the five-string design lets you cover modern genres, downtuned material and complex arrangements without changing instruments, giving you more flexibility on stage and in the studio.
