Sire V7 5 New Gen 5-String Bass Guitar in Antique White

The Sire V7 Alder-5 New Gen in Antique White is a modern, gig-ready jazz-style five-string bass created with direct input from players. Building on the success of the original V7, this updated model refines the neck for a smoother feel, simplifies the preamp for quicker on-the-fly tweaks, and adds stainless steel frets for long-lasting, buzz-free performance. It is a serious workhorse for bassists who need a comfortable, versatile instrument that can handle studio sessions, rehearsals and live shows with ease.

At the heart of the V7 Alder-5 New Gen is Sire’s updated neck design, which focuses on playability and comfort across all five strings. The Edgeless rolled fretboard edges and carefully shaped neck profile make fast lines, extended chords and long sets feel effortless. Whether you are a fingerstyle player, a slapper or a pick user, the neck is designed to stay out of your way and let you focus on the music.

The revised preamp layout keeps things simple and intuitive, with a four-knob configuration and a push or pull active or passive switch. This lets you move from a clean, transparent passive sound to a powerful, sculpted active tone in seconds, without cluttered controls or unnecessary switches. It is ideal if you want one bass that can cover subtle R and B, punchy funk and articulate modern tones without changing instruments.

Stainless steel frets complete the New Gen upgrades, offering a smooth feel, enhanced clarity and exceptional durability. They resist wear far better than traditional fretwire, keeping your intonation and feel consistent over years of playing. Combined with Sire’s solid construction and thoughtful ergonomics, the V7 Alder-5 New Gen Antique White is a dependable, great-sounding choice for players stepping up to a professional-level five-string bass.

New Gen Neck for Effortless Playability

The updated neck profile and Edgeless rolled fretboard edges make the V7 Alder-5 New Gen exceptionally comfortable, especially on longer gigs. The smoother transition at the fretboard edges reduces hand fatigue and makes position shifts feel natural, so complex lines and extended-range playing are easier to execute cleanly.

Simplified Active or Passive Preamp

With the coil tap switch removed, the streamlined four-knob layout keeps control of your sound fast and intuitive. The push or pull active or passive switching lets you jump between classic, organic tones and more powerful, shaped sounds instantly, giving you flexibility for different songs and styles without overcomplicating the control set.

Stainless Steel Frets for Longevity

Stainless steel frets offer a slick playing surface and excellent resistance to wear, helping your bass stay in top playing condition for longer. They support clear note definition and consistent intonation across the neck, which is especially important on a five-string where low notes need to remain tight and articulate.

Classic Sire V7 Style with Modern Refinements

The V7 Alder-5 New Gen retains the familiar S-style silhouette and elegant Antique White finish while incorporating the latest player-driven improvements. You get a bass that looks timeless on stage yet feels thoroughly up to date in the hands, making it a strong choice for players who value both aesthetics and performance.
