Product Description
The Sire V7 Alder-4 New Gen is a modern J-style bass that takes everything players loved about the original V7 and refines it for even better feel, tone and usability. With an updated neck profile, rolled fingerboard edges and stainless steel frets, it plays fast and comfortably, while the simplified active or passive preamp layout keeps your sound-shaping powerful yet intuitive. Finished in a classic Tobacco Sunburst, it is a workhorse instrument built to handle studio sessions and live gigs alike.
Designed with player feedback at its core, the V7 New Gen focuses on practical improvements that you will notice the moment you plug in. The neck has been reshaped for easier playing across the entire fingerboard, and the electronics have been streamlined so you can move between passive vintage-style tones and punchy active sounds with a simple push or pull. Stainless steel frets add long-term durability and a slick playing surface, making this bass a reliable partner for years of performance.
The combination of an alder body and Sire Marcus Miller electronics delivers a wide tonal palette suitable for funk, soul, pop, rock and jazz. Whether you prefer a warm, rounded sound or a bright, articulate slap tone, the V7 Alder-4 New Gen responds with clarity and authority. Its versatile voice makes it ideal as a main bass for players who need one instrument to cover a lot of ground.
Visually, the Tobacco Sunburst finish highlights the classic S-style body shape, giving the V7 a timeless look that fits any stage. The thoughtful blend of traditional aesthetics and modern playability means this bass will appeal equally to seasoned professionals and advancing players looking to step up to a serious instrument.
New Gen Neck for Effortless Playability
The updated neck profile is designed to feel immediately comfortable in the hand, making long rehearsals and gigs less fatiguing. Combined with Sire’s Edgeless rolled fingerboard edges, position shifts feel smooth and natural, helping you play more cleanly and confidently across the entire neck.
Simplified Active or Passive Preamp
The revised preamp layout removes the coil tap switch in favour of a straightforward four knob configuration with push or pull active or passive switching. This keeps your controls easy to understand on stage while still offering a broad range of tones, from classic passive sounds to more sculpted active voices when you need extra presence and punch.
Stainless Steel Frets for Longevity
Stainless steel frets provide exceptional durability and resistance to wear, so your bass will maintain a consistent feel and intonation over time. They also offer a smooth, glassy surface under your fingers, which can make bends, slides and fast passages feel more precise and controlled.
Classic Alder Body and S-Style Design
The alder body and S-style shape give the V7 Alder-4 New Gen a familiar balance and resonance that sits well in any mix. Alder is known for its clear, even response across the frequency range, helping your lines remain defined whether you are playing subtle grooves or more aggressive parts.
