Product Description
The Sire V3-5 New Gen in Tobacco Sunburst is a modern 5-string bass that delivers serious performance at a wallet-friendly price. With its upgraded Alnico pickups, simplified 2-band preamp and refined neck and body contours, it is designed to give you expressive tone, easy playability and flexible active or passive operation for any gig or session.
Whether you are stepping up from your first bass or looking for a reliable workhorse, the V3-5 New Gen offers a premium feel with its tinted Canadian maple neck, Edgeless rolled fretboard edges and smooth new control layout. From tight, punchy fingerstyle to warm, singing lines, this bass is built to keep up with your playing and make dialling in great sounds fast and intuitive.
Refined New Gen Neck
The V3-5 New Gen features a reworked neck and body profile that feels more comfortable and natural in the hands. The C-shape Canadian hard maple neck with a tinted finish offers a familiar, classic look while the 34 inch scale keeps the low B string clear and defined. Combined with the contoured body, it is a bass that encourages longer playing sessions without fatigue.
Edgeless Rosewood Fingerboard
Sire's Edgeless rolled fretboard edges on the rosewood fingerboard give the V3-5 a smooth, broken-in feel straight out of the box. The 9.5 inch radius and medium frets provide a great balance between comfort and precision, making fast runs, chordal work and expressive bends feel controlled and effortless across all five strings.
Upgraded Alnico Pickups
The Marcus Standard J-Revolution pickup set uses Alnico magnets for a warmer, more musical and expressive tone. Expect a full, rounded low end with articulate mids and a sweet top that responds well to your touch, whether you are digging in with a pick, playing fingerstyle or using slap techniques. These pickups give you a versatile foundation that works across funk, rock, pop, jazz and beyond.
Simplified 2-Band Preamp with Active/Passive Switching
The updated Sire Standard 2-band preamp makes tone shaping quick and intuitive. With just volume/tone, blend, treble and bass controls, you can move from tight, scooped modern sounds to warm, vintage-inspired tones in seconds. The push/pull function on the bass control lets you switch between active and passive modes, so you can choose the response and character that best suits the song or your rig.
