Product Description
The Sire V3-5 New Gen in Mild Green is a versatile 5-string bass that brings Marcus Miller-inspired performance to an accessible price point. With upgraded Alnico pickups, a simplified yet powerful 2-band preamp and a more comfortable neck and body profile, it is designed to give modern players a warm, expressive tone and an effortless playing experience on stage, in the studio or at home.
This latest generation focuses on what really matters to bassists: feel, sound and control. The new neck tint and sleek Mild Green finish give it a classy, vintage-flavoured look, while the Edgeless rolled fretboard edges and C-shape profile make long sets and extended practice sessions far more comfortable. Whether you prefer to run active for punchy, sculpted tones or switch to passive for a more traditional voice, the V3-5 New Gen keeps everything intuitive and easy to dial in.
New Gen Neck and Body Comfort
The V3-5 New Gen features slightly refined neck and body profiles that sit more naturally against the player. The C-shape Canadian hard maple neck, combined with Sire’s Edgeless rolled fretboard edges, helps reduce hand fatigue and makes position shifts smoother, ideal for both beginners and experienced players who demand comfort over long sessions.
Simplified 2-Band Preamp
Sire have streamlined the onboard electronics with a new 2-band preamp, giving you quick access to bass and treble shaping without overcomplicating your signal chain. This makes it easy to adapt your sound to different rooms and rigs, from deep, rounded lows for soul and R&B to brighter, more defined tones for funk and pop.
Upgraded Alnico Pickups
The Marcus Standard J-Revolution Alnico pickups deliver a warmer and more expressive sound than previous generations. Alnico magnets are known for their musical response and dynamic feel, letting you dig in for growl and attack or play lightly for a smoother, more laid-back tone, all while retaining clarity across the extended 5-string range.
Active and Passive Flexibility
With the redesigned control layout, the V3-5 New Gen offers smoother knobs and a push/pull function on the bass control to switch between active and passive modes. This gives you the flexibility to use the onboard preamp when you need extra punch and EQ, or bypass it for a classic passive jazz-style character, all from a single, easy-to-use control set.
Features
- Refined New Gen Neck - The Canadian hard maple C-shape neck with Edgeless rolled fretboard edges offers a smoother, more comfortable feel, helping you play faster and longer with less strain.
- Simplified 2-Band Preamp - The Sire Standard 2-band preamp focuses on bass and treble control, giving you straightforward tonal shaping that is quick to adjust in any live or studio situation.
- Alnico Magnet Pickups - The Marcus Standard J-Revolution Alnico pickups provide a warm, expressive voice with excellent dynamics, making it easy to cover everything from subtle grooves to aggressive lines.
- Active/Passive Push/Pull Control - A push/pull function on the bass knob lets you switch between active and passive operation, so you can move from modern, sculpted tones to traditional jazz-style sounds without changing your playing setup.
