Product Description
The Sire V3-5 New Gen Bass in Midnight Blueburst is a versatile, gig-ready 5 string that brings Marcus Miller inspired tone and feel to an affordable price point. With upgraded Alnico pickups, a simplified 2 band preamp and a more comfortable New Gen neck profile, it is built to deliver warm, expressive sounds and an easy playing experience for both beginners and working bassists.
This latest generation V3 refines all the essentials. The new active preamp makes dialling in great tones quick and intuitive, while the push/pull active passive switching lets you move from modern punch to classic, straightforward sounds in an instant. A mahogany body, Canadian hard maple neck and rosewood Edgeless fingerboard combine for a familiar Jazz style feel with improved comfort and a premium tinted look.
New Gen Neck and Body Comfort
The V3 New Gen features slightly refined neck and body profiles that sit more naturally against the player, whether you are standing or seated. The comfortable C shape Canadian hard maple neck and 34 inch scale feel instantly familiar, while the Edgeless rolled fretboard edges reduce hand fatigue and make position shifts smoother. The tinted neck finish not only looks more classic, it also feels sleek and inviting under the fingers.
Simplified 2 Band Preamp
Sire have reworked the onboard electronics with a new, simplified 2 band preamp that focuses on what bassists use most: bass and treble. This layout makes it easy to shape your sound quickly on stage or in the studio without getting lost in complex controls. You can add low end weight or top end bite with just a couple of tweaks, keeping your tone clear and musical across a wide range of styles.
Upgraded Alnico Pickups
The Marcus Standard J Revolution pickups now use Alnico magnets for a warmer, more expressive voice. Compared to more clinical sounding ceramics, these pickups deliver a rounder low end, sweet mids and a smooth top that responds well to your playing dynamics. From fingerstyle grooves to picked rock lines and slap funk, the V3-5 captures nuance while still cutting through a mix.
Flexible Active Passive Control Layout
The updated control scheme removes the coil tap switch and introduces a push/pull function on the bass control to switch between active and passive modes. In active mode you get the full power of the Sire Standard 2 band preamp for modern, sculpted tones. Pulling back into passive mode gives you a more traditional Jazz style response with a simple volume, tone and blend interaction, ideal if you prefer a straightforward, organic sound or need a backup in case your battery runs low.
Features
- New Gen Neck Profile with Edgeless Fingerboard - The refined C shape neck and rolled Edgeless fretboard edges make the V3-5 exceptionally comfortable to play, reducing sharp edges and helping your fretting hand glide smoothly up and down the neck during long rehearsals and gigs.
- Simplified Sire Standard 2 Band Preamp - With just bass and treble controls, the new preamp keeps tone shaping quick and intuitive, allowing you to adapt your sound on the fly without overthinking settings, whether you are on stage or in the studio.
- Alnico Marcus Standard J Revolution Pickups - The upgraded Alnico magnet pickups provide a warmer, more musical tone with enhanced expression, giving you articulate lows and smooth highs that respond naturally to fingerstyle, pick and slap techniques.
- Active Passive Push/Pull Switching - The push/pull bass control lets you switch seamlessly between powerful active tones and classic passive sounds, offering extra versatility for different genres and giving you a simple, reliable fallback if you prefer a more traditional response.
