Product Description
The Sire V3-5 New Gen Bass in Antique White is a versatile five-string workhorse that brings premium Marcus Miller-inspired features to a highly accessible price point. With its upgraded Alnico pickups, simplified 2-band preamp and refined neck and body contours, this latest generation delivers a warmer, more expressive tone and a noticeably more comfortable playing experience, whether you are in the studio, on stage or rehearsing at home.
A mahogany body provides a solid, full-bodied foundation, while the Canadian hard maple neck with tinted finish and Edgeless rolled rosewood fingerboard feels smooth and broken-in straight out of the box. The updated control layout makes it quick and intuitive to dial in everything from tight, modern slap sounds to rounded vintage fingerstyle tones, and the push/pull active passive switching lets you adapt instantly to any musical situation.
New Gen Neck and Body Comfort
The V3-5 New Gen benefits from subtly refined neck and body profiles that sit more naturally against the player. The familiar C-shape Canadian hard maple neck feels fast yet supportive, while the Edgeless rolled rosewood fingerboard edges remove any harshness under your fretting hand. Combined with the comfortable New Marcus Miller Jazz type body shape, this makes long sets and extended practice sessions far less fatiguing.
Simplified 2 Band Preamp
Sire have redesigned the onboard electronics around a streamlined 2-band preamp, giving you treble and bass controls that respond musically across their entire range. This simplified layout makes it easier to shape your sound quickly, without getting lost in complex EQ options, so you can focus on playing while still having plenty of tonal flexibility for different genres and rooms.
Upgraded Alnico Pickups
The Marcus Standard J-Revolution pickup set now uses Alnico magnets for a warmer, more organic voice. These pickups deliver a rich low end, articulate mids and a smooth top that flatters both fingerstyle and slap techniques. The result is a more expressive instrument that responds dynamically to your touch, from subtle ghost notes to aggressive accents.
Active Passive Versatility
The updated control section replaces the previous coil tap with a practical push pull active passive function on the bass control. In active mode you have powerful EQ shaping on tap, ideal for cutting through a mix or tailoring your sound to the room. Pull the knob for passive mode and you get a classic, straightforward Jazz style response that keeps working even if your battery runs low, giving you reliable flexibility for any gig.
Features
- Refined New Gen Neck - The Canadian hard maple C-shape neck with Edgeless rolled rosewood fingerboard edges offers a smoother, more comfortable feel, reducing hand fatigue and making position shifts easier across all five strings.
- Simplified 2 Band Preamp - The Sire Standard 2-band preamp provides intuitive treble and bass control, allowing you to quickly sculpt everything from bright, punchy slap tones to deep, rounded grooves without overcomplicating your setup.
- Alnico Marcus Standard J-Revolution Pickups - Upgraded Alnico magnet pickups deliver a warmer, more expressive sound with enhanced dynamics, giving you a responsive, musical tone that suits a wide range of styles.
- Active Passive Push Pull Control - The push pull function on the bass control switches seamlessly between active and passive operation, letting you access modern, EQ sculpted sounds or traditional, straightforward tones at a moment’s notice.
