Product Description
The Sire V3-4 New Gen in Tobacco Sunburst is a hugely versatile, modern take on the classic Jazz-style bass, built to deliver serious performance at a very accessible price. With upgraded Alnico pickups, a simplified yet powerful 2-band preamp, and a more comfortable neck and body profile, it is designed to give you confident, gig-ready tone and feel whether you are a beginner, a returning player or a working bassist.
This latest generation focuses on what players really need: easy tone shaping, a smooth-playing neck and a sound that sits perfectly in the mix. The new active/passive push/pull control lets you switch instantly between modern punch and classic passive warmth, while the Edgeless rolled fingerboard edges and tinted maple neck finish make long sessions feel effortless and look suitably premium on stage.
Upgraded New Gen Neck
The V3-4 New Gen features a refined C-shape Canadian hard maple neck with a smooth tint finish that feels broken-in from day one. Combined with Sire's Edgeless rolled rosewood fingerboard edges, it offers a more comfortable, rounded feel under the fretting hand, reducing fatigue and making fast lines, slides and position shifts feel natural and controlled.
Simplified 2-Band Preamp
Sire have streamlined the onboard electronics with a new Standard 2-band preamp, giving you intuitive control over treble and bass without overcomplicating your setup. This makes it quick and easy to dial in everything from tight, articulate slap tones to deep, rounded fingerstyle sounds, so you can adapt to different genres and rooms with minimal fuss.
Alnico Magnet Pickups
The Marcus Standard J-Revolution Alnico pickups provide a warmer and more expressive voice than typical entry-level ceramics. They capture the nuances of your playing, from gentle dynamics to aggressive digging in, and deliver a classic Jazz-style growl with added richness and clarity that works equally well in active or passive mode.
Flexible Active and Passive Operation
The updated control layout removes the coil tap switch in favour of a push/pull function on the bass control to switch between active and passive modes. This gives you the reliability and familiar response of a passive bass when you want it, along with the extra headroom and sculpting power of the active preamp when you need to cut through a busy mix.
Features
- New Gen Neck Profile and Edgeless Fingerboard - The refined C-shape neck and rolled Edgeless rosewood fingerboard edges provide a smoother, more comfortable playing surface, helping you play longer with less strain and improving overall control across the entire 34 inch scale.
- Simplified 2-Band Active Preamp - The Sire Standard 2-band preamp focuses on treble and bass, making tone shaping fast and intuitive. You can quickly adapt your sound to different styles and venues without getting lost in complex controls.
- Marcus Standard J-Revolution Alnico Pickups - Alnico magnet pickups deliver a warmer, more musical tone with enhanced expression. They respond well to different right-hand techniques, giving you everything from smooth, rounded lows to articulate midrange bite.
- Active/Passive Push/Pull Control - The push/pull bass control lets you switch between active and passive operation on the fly, offering both modern, sculpted tones and classic, straightforward passive sounds in a single instrument.
