Product Description
The Sire V3-4 New Gen Bass in Mild Green delivers classic Jazz-style looks with modern playability and a flexible active/passive electronics package. With its upgraded Alnico pickups, simplified 2-band preamp and more comfortable neck and body profiles, it is a superb choice for players who want a versatile, gig-ready bass that feels and sounds far more expensive than it is.
Mahogany construction, a Canadian hard maple neck with a tinted finish and Sire’s Edgeless rolled fretboard edges make the V3-4 New Gen a joy to play for long sessions. Whether you are laying down smooth soul lines, punchy funk grooves or bright, articulate rock parts, this bass offers easy tonal shaping and a familiar, intuitive control layout that works just as well on stage as it does in the studio.
New Gen Comfort and Feel
The V3-4 New Gen benefits from slightly refined neck and body profiles that sit more naturally against the player, reducing fatigue and making extended sets more comfortable. The C-shape Canadian hard maple neck feels fast yet substantial in the hand, while the Edgeless rolled rosewood fretboard edges remove any sharpness along the sides, giving a smooth, broken-in feel straight out of the box.
Simplified 2-Band Preamp
Sire have equipped the V3-4 New Gen with a streamlined 2-band preamp focused on the controls you use most. With dedicated bass and treble EQ, plus a combined volume/tone and blend control, you can quickly dial in everything from deep, rounded lows to crisp, cutting highs without getting lost in complex switching. It is a practical, gig-friendly layout that keeps you playing rather than tweaking.
Upgraded Alnico Pickups
The Marcus Standard J-Revolution pickup set now uses Alnico magnets for a warmer, more expressive voice. These pickups capture the familiar snap and growl of a Jazz-style bass while adding a smooth, musical character that responds beautifully to your touch. From subtle dynamics to aggressive digging in, the V3-4 New Gen translates every nuance with clarity and warmth.
Active and Passive Flexibility
Thanks to the push/pull switch on the bass control, you can switch instantly between active and passive modes. Use active mode for extra headroom and sculpted tones, then pull back to passive for a more traditional, straightforward sound if you prefer. This flexibility makes the V3-4 New Gen an ideal all-rounder, ready to cover a wide range of styles and playing situations with a single instrument.
Features
- Refined New Gen Neck and Body - The updated neck and body profiles are designed for improved ergonomics, helping the bass sit comfortably against you whether standing or seated. This makes long rehearsals and gigs easier on your hands and shoulders, while the familiar C-shape neck profile offers a confident, controllable feel.
- Simplified 2-Band Active Preamp - The Sire Standard 2-band preamp focuses on bass and treble, giving you quick access to essential tone-shaping without overcomplicating the control layout. This lets you adapt your sound to different rooms and mixes in seconds, keeping your tone consistent and controlled.
- Alnico Marcus Standard J-Revolution Pickups - The upgraded Alnico pickups deliver a warmer, more musical tone with plenty of articulation. They provide the classic Jazz-style punch and clarity that works across funk, rock, pop and more, while remaining responsive to your playing dynamics.
- Active/Passive Push/Pull Switching - A push/pull function on the bass control allows you to switch between active and passive operation on the fly. This gives you the choice of modern, sculpted tones or a more traditional, straightforward response, making the V3-4 New Gen highly adaptable for different genres and playing contexts.
