Product Description
The Sire V3-4 New Gen Bass in Midnight Blueburst delivers pro-level feel and flexible tone at a price that suits working players and ambitious beginners alike. With its simplified 2-band active preamp, upgraded Alnico pickups and a more comfortable New Gen neck profile, this latest version of the V3 series is built to be your go-to bass for stage, studio and practice.
Under the hood, the V3-4 New Gen combines a resonant mahogany body with Marcus Miller-designed electronics for a punchy, musical sound that sits perfectly in any mix. The new active/passive push/pull control makes it easy to switch from modern, sculpted tones to classic, passive warmth in an instant, while the rolled fingerboard edges and tinted maple neck give a slick, premium playing experience that belies the price.
New Gen Neck and Body Comfort
The V3-4 New Gen features refined neck and body profiles that feel more comfortable and ergonomic than ever. The familiar C-shape Canadian hard maple neck, combined with Sire’s Edgeless rolled fretboard edges, gives a smooth, broken-in feel right out of the box. The updated body contour helps the bass sit naturally against you whether you are standing or seated, reducing fatigue over longer sets and rehearsals.
Simplified 2-Band Active Preamp
Sire have equipped the V3-4 New Gen with a streamlined 2-band preamp, making it quicker and easier to dial in great tones. With dedicated bass and treble controls, you can go from tight, focused funk sounds to big, warm low-end or bright, cutting slap tones with minimal fuss. The simplified layout keeps everything intuitive, ideal for players who want versatility without being overwhelmed by too many controls.
Upgraded Alnico Pickups
The Marcus Standard J-Revolution pickup set now uses Alnico magnets for a warmer, more expressive voice. These pickups deliver the familiar clarity and articulation of a Jazz-style bass, but with added musicality and dynamic response. From smooth R&B lines and articulate fusion runs to gritty rock growl, the V3-4 responds to your touch and playing style with ease.
Active/Passive Flexibility
A push/pull function on the bass control lets you switch instantly between active and passive operation. In active mode, you have powerful EQ shaping on tap for modern, punchy tones that cut through dense mixes. Pull the control for passive mode when you want a more traditional, organic sound with simple volume and tone control. This flexibility makes the V3-4 New Gen a great choice if you cover multiple genres or need different sounds across a gig.
