Product Description
The Sire V3-4 New Gen Bass in Black Satin delivers the acclaimed Marcus Miller feel and flexibility in an affordable, gig-ready package. With upgraded Alnico pickups, a simplified 2-band active preamp and a more comfortable neck and body profile, it is designed to give modern players a warm, expressive tone and effortless playability on stage, in the studio or at home.
This latest generation V3 keeps the classic Jazz-style layout that bassists love, but refines it with rolled fretboard edges, a tinted maple neck for a more premium look, and smoother, more intuitive controls. Whether you prefer to run active for punchy, sculpted tones or switch to passive for a more traditional sound, the V3-4 New Gen makes it easy to dial in exactly what you need.
The Black Satin finish gives the bass a sleek, understated aesthetic that looks at home in any genre, from funk and soul to rock and pop. Under the hood, a solid mahogany body and Marcus Standard J-Revolution pickups provide a rich, musical response with plenty of clarity, while the 34 inch scale and C-shape neck will feel instantly familiar to most players.
With its combination of thoughtful upgrades, classic styling and player-focused ergonomics, the Sire V3-4 New Gen is a smart choice for beginners stepping up to their first serious instrument and experienced bassists looking for a reliable, great-sounding workhorse.
New Gen Neck Profile
The V3-4 New Gen features a refined C-shape Canadian hard maple neck with a smooth tint finish that feels fast and comfortable in the hand. The Edgeless rolled rosewood fingerboard edges reduce fatigue and make position shifts feel natural, ideal for long rehearsals, gigs and recording sessions.
Simplified 2-Band Preamp
Sire have introduced a streamlined 2-band preamp that focuses on bass and treble, making it quick and intuitive to shape your sound. You can easily add low-end weight or top-end bite without getting lost in complex controls, perfect for players who want powerful active tones with minimal fuss.
Upgraded Alnico Pickups
The Marcus Standard J-Revolution Alnico pickups deliver a warmer and more expressive voice than previous generations. Alnico magnets provide a musical, vintage-inspired character with clear mids and smooth highs, giving you a versatile tone that works for fingerstyle, slap and pick playing alike.
Active or Passive at the Pull of a Switch
A push/pull function on the bass control lets you switch between active and passive modes instantly. Use active mode for punchy, modern tones with added EQ control, then pull back to passive when you want a more traditional, straightforward Jazz-style sound, all without changing your playing setup.
