Product Description
The Sire P7 Alder 5 New Gen in Tobacco Sunburst is a modern take on the classic PJ five string, refined using real player feedback from the V7, V7 Vintage and P7 2nd Gen ranges. With a new, more comfortable neck, upgraded electronics and hardware, and gig-ready visibility features, it delivers a hugely versatile, pro-level bass that feels effortless under the fingers and sounds at home in any style.
Combining a North American alder body with Marcus Miller Super-PJ Revolution pickups and the acclaimed Heritage-3 preamp, the P7 New Gen covers everything from vintage thump to crisp, articulate slap. Stainless steel frets, lightweight tuners and Lumiinlay position markers round out a bass that is built to work hard on stage and in the studio, night after night.
Refined New Gen Neck
The New Gen C-shape neck has been carefully reshaped for easier playing, offering a fast, comfortable feel across the entire 34 inch scale. Edgeless rolled fretboard edges help the neck sit naturally in the hand, reducing fatigue during long sets and making position shifts and stretches feel smoother and more controlled.
Modern Visibility and Durability
Lumiinlay dot position markers give you clear reference points in low-light venues, so you can play confidently on dark stages or in dim rehearsal rooms. Stainless steel frets provide a smooth, glassy feel under the fingers and are far more resistant to wear than traditional fretwire, helping the bass maintain a consistent playing feel and accurate intonation over years of use.
Expressive Marcus Miller Electronics
The Marcus Super-PJ Revolution pickup set has been re-voiced for the New Gen series, delivering a richer, more expressive sound with improved clarity and punch. Paired with the Marcus Heritage-3 preamp and its powerful mid frequency control, you can sculpt everything from classic Precision-style warmth to tight, modern Jazz tones, with an intuitive control layout that keeps sound-shaping quick and musical.
Stage Ready Hardware
Premium lightweight open-gear tuners help keep the overall weight balanced while providing solid tuning stability, making long gigs more comfortable on the shoulder. The Marcus Miller Modern-S bass bridge offers secure string anchoring and reliable intonation adjustment, allowing you to dial in your preferred feel and response with confidence.
Features
- New Gen C-Shape Neck with Edgeless Fretboard - The updated C-shape profile and rolled Edgeless fretboard edges create a smooth, broken-in feel that encourages relaxed playing and fast movement across the neck, ideal for both intricate lines and solid groove work.
- Marcus Super-PJ Revolution Pickups and Heritage-3 Preamp - The redesigned PJ pickup set and Marcus Heritage-3 preamp with sweepable mids provide a wide tonal palette, from vintage-inspired punch to bright, modern articulation, so you can adapt to any genre or mix with ease.
- Stainless Steel Frets and Lightweight Tuners - Hard-wearing stainless steel frets resist flattening and wear, preserving a consistent feel over time, while lightweight aluminium tuning machines improve balance and reduce neck dive for greater comfort on long sessions.
- Lumiinlay Position Markers - Luminous dot markers on the fretboard offer enhanced visibility in dark environments, helping you stay oriented on stage without needing extra lighting or visual cues.
