Product Description
The Sire P7 Alder 5 New Gen in Tidepool is a modern workhorse bass that blends classic P and J tones with slick, player-focused upgrades. Drawing on feedback from the acclaimed V7, V7 Vintage and P7 2nd Gen models, this latest generation refines the formula with a more comfortable neck, simplified controls and updated electronics, giving you a versatile, gig-ready instrument that feels effortless under the fingers.
With its roasted maple neck, stainless steel frets, lightweight hardware and redesigned Marcus Super PJ pickups feeding the Marcus Heritage 3 preamp, the P7 New Gen is built for bassists who need studio-level tone and reliable performance night after night. The Tidepool finish, paired with block inlays and binding, delivers a standout look that is as smart as the specification.
Refined New Gen Neck for Effortless Playability
The updated C shape New Gen neck is designed to feel instantly familiar yet noticeably more comfortable. Roasted hard maple on the Tidepool model offers enhanced stability and a smooth, broken-in feel, while the 34 inch scale and 9.5 inch radius strike a sweet spot between modern ease and traditional feel. Sire’s Edgeless rolled fretboard edges remove any sharpness along the neck, making position shifts and extended sets far less fatiguing.
Updated Electronics with Simplified Control Layout
The P7 New Gen streamlines its control layout for faster, more intuitive operation. The coil tap switch has been removed, leaving a cleaner interface with smoother knob action so you can focus on playing rather than menu diving. The Marcus Super PJ Revolution pickup set, paired with the Marcus Heritage 3 preamp and sweepable mid control, gives you a wide tonal palette from vintage thump to modern punch, all accessible via a logical, performance friendly layout.
Stage Ready Visibility and Durability
Lumiinlay dot position markers make it easier to see where you are on dark stages or in low light rehearsal rooms, helping you stay locked in without second guessing your hand position. Stainless steel frets offer improved longevity and a slick feel under the fingers, standing up to heavy gigging and aggressive playing styles while maintaining a consistent, precise response across the neck.
Classic PJ Versatility with Modern Hardware
The Marcus Super PJ Revolution pickups capture the best of both worlds, with a punchy split coil P style pickup at the neck and a articulate J style single coil at the bridge. Blend between them to cover everything from old school soul to tight, modern fusion. The Marcus Miller Modern S bridge and premium lightweight open gear tuners provide solid tuning stability and responsive feel, while keeping overall weight manageable for long sessions.
Features
- New Gen C Shape Neck with Edgeless Fretboard - The updated neck profile and rolled fretboard edges create a smooth, comfortable playing surface that reduces hand fatigue and makes fast lines, slides and position changes feel more natural.
- Marcus Super PJ Revolution Pickups with Heritage 3 Preamp - The redesigned pickup voicing and powerful active circuit with sweepable mids deliver a richer, more expressive sound, letting you dial in everything from deep, rounded lows to cutting, modern tones with precision.
- Stainless Steel Frets and Lumiinlay Markers - Hard wearing stainless frets offer long term durability and a smooth feel, while Lumiinlay position markers improve visibility on dark stages so you can play confidently in any lighting.
- Lightweight Hardware and Simplified Controls - Premium lightweight tuners help keep the bass well balanced on the strap, and the streamlined control layout with smoother knob operation makes on the fly adjustments quick and intuitive.
