Product Description
The Sire P7 Alder 5 New Gen in Dark Forest is a modern workhorse 5 string bass that blends classic PJ versatility with thoughtful upgrades for today’s players. Built from North American alder with a comfortable New Gen C-shape neck and powerful Marcus Super-PJ pickups, it delivers everything from vintage thump to articulate modern punch, all wrapped up in a sleek, stage-ready Dark Forest finish.
Refined from player feedback on previous V7, V7 Vintage and P7 models, this New Gen version focuses on feel, clarity and practicality. Stainless steel frets, lightweight hardware, a simplified control layout and Lumiinlay dot markers all come together to create a bass that feels fast, sounds rich and stays easy to handle on long gigs.
Refined New Gen Neck
The New Gen C-shape neck has been carefully updated for easier playing, with a profile that sits naturally in the hand whether you are laying down root notes or stretching across the 5th string. Edgeless rolled fretboard edges give a smooth, broken-in feel straight out of the box, helping you move around the 34 inch scale effortlessly with less fatigue.
Powerful Marcus Super-PJ Electronics
At the heart of the P7 Alder 5 New Gen is the Marcus Super-PJ Revolution pickup set paired with the Marcus Heritage-3 preamp. The redesigned New Gen pickup voicing offers a richer, more expressive sound, while the PJ configuration covers everything from tight, focused bridge tones to full, rounded neck sounds. With active and passive operation plus a dedicated middle frequency control, you can fine-tune your tone for any style or mix.
Simplified, Gig-Ready Controls
The control layout has been streamlined for smoother operation, with the coil tap switch removed to keep things intuitive on stage. A dual volume/tone pot, pickup blender and dedicated bass, middle and treble controls (with sweepable mids) make it quick and easy to dial in sounds, while the mini toggle lets you switch between active and passive modes as the situation demands.
Durable, Player-Focused Hardware
Stainless steel frets provide long-lasting durability and a snappy, articulate response that stands up to heavy playing and regular gigging. Premium lightweight aluminium tuners help keep the overall weight comfortable and improve balance on the strap, while the Marcus Miller Modern-S bridge anchors the strings securely for solid sustain and reliable intonation.
