Product Description
The Sire P7 Alder 5 New Gen in Antique White is a modern workhorse 5 string that blends classic P and J bass flavours with Sire’s acclaimed electronics and playability upgrades. Built from North American alder with a roasted maple neck and ebony fingerboard, it delivers a punchy, versatile tone and a slick, comfortable feel that suits everything from studio sessions to long live sets.
Drawing on feedback from previous V7, V7 Vintage and P7 generations, this New Gen model refines the formula with an updated neck profile, stainless steel frets, lightweight hardware and redesigned Marcus Super PJ Revolution pickups. Add in the powerful yet intuitive Heritage 3 preamp and you have a seriously capable bass that can cover vintage thump, modern clarity and everything in between.
Refined New Gen Neck for Effortless Playability
The New Gen C shape neck has been carefully tweaked for a smoother, more ergonomic feel across the entire 34 inch scale. Combined with Sire’s Edgeless rolled fingerboard edges, it feels broken in from day one, reducing hand fatigue and making fast lines, stretches and position shifts far more comfortable.
Powerful Marcus Heritage 3 Electronics
At the heart of the P7 Alder 5 is Sire’s Marcus Heritage 3 preamp with a flexible middle frequency control. The simplified control layout keeps things intuitive while still offering deep tonal shaping in active mode, plus a passive option for classic, straightforward operation. Whether you need tight, scooped slap tones or warm, mid forward fingerstyle sounds, this circuit puts a wide palette at your fingertips.
New Gen Marcus Super PJ Pickups
The Marcus Super PJ Revolution pickup set has been revoiced for the New Gen series to deliver a richer, more expressive sound. The split coil P style pickup provides solid low end punch and definition, while the J style bridge pickup adds bite and articulation. Blending the two gives you a huge range of usable tones suitable for funk, rock, pop, gospel and beyond.
Stage Ready Details and Durable Construction
Stainless steel frets offer a smooth feel and exceptional longevity, ideal for players who gig and record regularly. Lumiinlay dot position markers improve visibility on dark stages, while premium lightweight open gear tuners help keep the overall weight comfortable and the balance well judged. The Antique White finish, tortoiseshell pickguard and block inlays complete a classy, vintage inspired aesthetic.
