Product Description
PRS Acoustic Strings Coated 80/20 Light 12 - 53 are a premium set of coated, round wound acoustic strings designed to deliver a bright, articulate voice with impressive depth and longevity. Built around a hex-shaped high-carbon steel core and wrapped in 80/20 bronze, they offer a vibrant, balanced tone that flat-pickers and fingerstyle players alike can rely on night after night.
This Light gauge set feels comfortable under the fingers, making chords, melodic runs and bends easier to play without sacrificing projection or body. The proprietary PRS coating helps the strings hold their tone and feel fresher for longer, while corrosion-resistant packaging keeps them in top condition until you are ready to restring. If you want a responsive, expressive set of acoustic strings that stay lively and musical, these are a superb choice.
Balanced, Vibrant Acoustic Tone
With an 80/20 bronze wrap over a high-carbon steel core, these strings deliver a clear, bright top end with a solid, supportive low end. The result is a balanced, vibrant tone that cuts through a mix without sounding harsh, ideal for modern PRS acoustics and many other steel-string acoustic guitars.
Comfortable Light Gauge Feel
The 12 - 53 Light gauge strikes a sweet spot between playability and fullness of sound. Chords fret easily, fingerstyle patterns feel controlled and smooth, and single-note lines respond quickly, making them a great option for players who want comfort without losing dynamic range.
Coated for Longevity
PRS’s proprietary coating helps protect the strings from sweat, grime and everyday wear, extending their usable life while maintaining a natural feel. This means more consistent tone between string changes and fewer interruptions to your playing schedule.
Flat-pick and Fingerstyle Friendly
Whether you are digging in with a flat pick or playing intricate fingerstyle parts, these strings respond with clarity and definition. The articulate top end and supportive bass make them versatile enough for strumming, lead work and nuanced fingerpicked arrangements.
