Product Description

NoiseWorks Enshape is a transient designer plugin that lets you shape the attack and sustain of any sound without relying on a threshold. By comparing two envelopes instead of reacting to level, it delivers consistent, musical control over every hit, phrase and note across your entire track.

Traditional compressors and transient shapers only respond once the signal crosses a threshold, so quiet details can slip through unchanged. Enshape sidesteps this completely. It tracks the natural contour of your audio with an input envelope, then pushes it towards a target envelope that you define. The result is precise, predictable transient and sustain control that works just as well on whispered vocals as it does on slamming drums.

Whether you are smoothing out spiky consonants, adding punch to a kick, tightening room mics or bringing out the body of a piano, Enshape keeps the workflow simple. Attack and Release for the input envelope decide how closely the original is followed, while Attack and Release for the target envelope set the new shape. A Mix control makes parallel shaping effortless, and envelope limits help you keep unwanted noises like breaths out of the processing.

With built in autogain, lookahead and flexible timing options, Enshape slots straight into modern production chains. It runs as a VST3, AU or AAX plugin on both macOS and Windows, so you can drop it into your DAW and immediately start sculpting transients with a level of consistency that is hard to achieve with conventional dynamics tools.

Envelope based transient shaping

Instead of reacting to level above a threshold, Enshape compares an input envelope to a target envelope. This means loud and quiet notes are treated in exactly the same way, giving you reliable, repeatable shaping across the whole performance without constantly riding controls or splitting tracks.

Independent control of attack and sustain

With dedicated Attack and Release controls for both input and target envelopes, Enshape behaves like a compressor and expander in one. You can soften or emphasise transients, lengthen or shorten sustain, and dial in anything from tight, dry hits to expansive, roomy tails using a single, intuitive interface.

Mix, limits and autogain for fast workflows

The Mix control makes parallel transient shaping as simple as turning one knob, so you can blend in just the right amount of effect. Envelope limits let you define minimum and maximum detection ranges, helping you avoid processing unwanted elements, while autogain keeps perceived loudness steady as you experiment.

Ready for modern DAWs on Mac and Windows

Enshape is available in VST3, AU and AAX formats, and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs as well as 64 bit Windows systems. It drops straight into your existing setup, giving you a flexible transient designer that works across your sessions, whatever DAW you prefer.

Features
  • Threshold free transient design - Enshape shapes dynamics by comparing two envelopes instead of reacting above a threshold. This ensures that quiet and loud notes are processed identically, giving you consistent attack and sustain control across entire tracks without level dependent blind spots.
  • Dual envelope compressor and expander behaviour - Separate input and target envelopes let Enshape act as both a compressor and an expander for transients and sustain. You can reduce spiky attacks, add punch, bring out body or tighten decay using the same set of controls, keeping your processing chain simple and efficient.
  • Powerful shaping controls with parallel mix - Attack and Release for input and target envelopes define how the signal is captured and where it is pushed, while the Mix control makes parallel processing effortless. This combination gives you fine tuned control over the feel of every hit, from subtle enhancement to dramatic reshaping.
  • Smart utilities for stable, musical results - Envelope limits help you focus processing on the parts of the signal you actually want to change, such as hits rather than breaths. Autogain, with peak or average modes, maintains a steady output level as you tweak, and lookahead plus length controls let you fine tune timing and visual feedback.
