Product Description
The EMG Kirk Hammett Bone Breaker Humbucker Pickup Set in limited-edition Spectrum finish delivers Kirk’s brutal Metallica-inspired tone with a fresh visual twist. Created to celebrate EMG’s 50th anniversary and only available in 2026, this active set blends Alnico 5 and Ceramic power for crushing gain, articulate cleans and a look that makes any guitar impossible to ignore.
By refining EMG’s proven preamp design and pairing different magnet types in the neck and bridge, the Bone Breaker set gives you tight, aggressive rhythm tones and searing leads without sacrificing clarity when you roll back the volume. Supplied with EMG’s solderless wiring system and long shaft pots, it is a premium, performance-ready upgrade for players chasing modern metal tones with rock-solid reliability.
Kirk Hammett Signature Bone Breaker Tone
The Bone Breaker set is voiced around Kirk Hammett’s ferocious live and studio sound, with the BB-B bridge pickup delivering focused Ceramic aggression and the BB-N neck pickup providing smoother Alnico 5 warmth. Together they cover everything from razor-sharp riffing to fluid, singing leads, all with the tight low end and fast attack that modern metal demands.
Limited 2026 Spectrum Metalworks Finish
This version of the Bone Breaker set features EMG’s striking Spectrum Metalworks cap, a mystifying multi-toned finish that instantly stands out under stage lights. Available only during 2026 to mark EMG’s 50th anniversary, it turns a high-performance pickup set into a collectible centrepiece for your favourite guitar.
Balanced Gain and Crystal-Clear Cleans
Subtle tweaks to the onboard preamp let the Bone Breaker set deliver huge output and saturation while still cleaning up beautifully from the volume control. You get crisp, crushing high-gain tones and smooth, rounded cleans at the flip of the selector switch, making this set ideal for players who need versatility without losing the edge.
Solderless Installation with Long Shaft Pots
Included in the box is EMG’s exclusive solderless install system, with long shaft 25k pots that suit many carved-top and thicker-bodied guitars. Plug-in connectors, pre-wired buses and all required cables make fitting the set straightforward, so you can spend less time with a soldering iron and more time dialling in your new tone.
Features
- Kirk Hammett Bone Breaker Voicing - Purpose-built around Kirk’s signature Metallica sound, the BB-B bridge and BB-N neck pickups serve up tight rhythm crunch and fluid lead sustain, giving you an instantly recognisable modern metal voice.
