Ibanez SRD905F-BTL SR-Series 5-String Fretless Bass Guitar in Brown Topaz Burst Low Gloss

The Ibanez SRD905F-BTL is a highly expressive 5-string fretless bass designed for players who want upright-style nuance in a modern, ergonomic package. With a semi-hollow Okoume body, exotic Maple top and a powerful combination of Nordstrand Big Break pickups and AeroSilk piezo bridge, it delivers everything from woody acoustic warmth to punchy, articulate electric tones. Finished in a stunning Brown Topaz Burst Low Gloss, it is as inspiring to look at as it is to play.

At the heart of the SRD905F-BTL is a 30-fret fretless fingerboard that opens up a huge expressive range. Gliding between notes feels effortless, while the extended register lets you explore melodic lines and chordal textures far beyond a traditional bass. Whether you are emulating double bass phrasing or crafting lyrical solos, this instrument rewards a sensitive touch and a creative approach.

The semi-hollow Okoume body keeps the bass lightweight and comfortable, while adding a natural airiness and resonance to every note. Paired with the AeroSilk MR5 bridge and its integrated piezo system, you can dial in convincing acoustic-style tones or blend them with the Nordstrand Big Break pickups for a rich, complex sound that sits beautifully in any mix. Flatwound strings come fitted from the factory, giving you that classic, smooth fretless feel and a warm, singing voice straight out of the box.

On stage and in the studio, the Ibanez 2-band EQ with dedicated piezo tone control gives you precise command over your sound. From dark, thumpy lines to bright, singing harmonics, it is easy to shape your tone to suit any genre. Practical touches like luminescent side dots ensure confident navigation on dimly lit stages, while the 5-piece Maple and Walnut neck offers rock-solid stability and a fast, comfortable feel for long sessions.

Expressive 30-Fret Fretless Design

The extended 30-fret fretless layout gives you an enormous melodic range and the ability to phrase like a double bassist, with smooth slides, microtonal inflections and vocal-style vibrato. It is ideal for players who want to step beyond traditional bass roles and explore more lyrical, soloistic territory.

Semi-Hollow Okoume Body with Exotic Maple Top

The semi-hollow Okoume body keeps the instrument light and resonant, adding an airy, organic quality to your tone. The exotic Maple top in Brown Topaz Burst Low Gloss not only looks sophisticated, it also adds clarity and definition, helping every note speak clearly in a band mix.

Nordstrand Big Break Pickups and AeroSilk Piezo System

Nordstrand Big Break passive pickups provide a powerful, articulate electric bass voice with plenty of punch and clarity, while the AeroSilk piezo bridge captures a more acoustic, upright-style character. Blending these two sources gives you a huge palette of tones, from woody and mellow to bright and aggressive.

Active Ibanez EQ with Piezo Tone Control

The onboard Ibanez 2-band EQ, powered by a single 9V battery, lets you quickly shape your bass and treble response to suit any style or venue. The dedicated piezo tone control allows you to fine-tune the acoustic-style element of your sound, making it easy to move from warm, supportive lines to more cutting, percussive textures.
