Product Description
The Ibanez SR500A-TGF is a sleek, modern SR-Series bass designed for players who want a fast, comfortable instrument with a wide tonal range. Its lightweight okoume body, roasted maple and walnut neck, and Bartolini BH2 pickups combine to deliver a responsive, balanced sound that works just as well on stage as it does in the studio.
Finished in Transparent Gray Flat, the SR500A lets the natural grain of the wood shine through, giving it a sophisticated, contemporary look. Under the hood, Ibanez Custom Electronics with a 3-band EQ and mid frequency selector give you precise control over your tone, from tight, focused punch to warm, rounded lows and articulate highs. Whether you are playing rock, funk, fusion or pop, this bass is built to keep up with your creativity.
Modern SR Playability
The SR500A-TGF features the signature slim SR neck profile, crafted from a 5-piece roasted maple and walnut construction for strength and stability. The long 864 mm scale and 24-fret layout give you extended range without sacrificing comfort, while the smooth satin finish helps your hand glide effortlessly along the neck. White dot inlays keep things clean and functional, making it easy to navigate the fingerboard under stage lights.
Lightweight Okoume Body
An okoume body keeps the SR500A light on the shoulder during long rehearsals and gigs, while still providing a resonant, lively acoustic character. This tonewood offers a warm, open midrange that pairs perfectly with the Bartolini electronics, giving you a solid foundation that sits naturally in a mix. The Transparent Gray Flat finish highlights the natural grain, adding a touch of boutique style to a highly practical workhorse bass.
Bartolini BH2 Pickups and 3-Band EQ
Dual Bartolini BH2 pickups deliver a rich, full-bodied tone with a smooth low end, clear mids and controlled highs. Paired with Ibanez Custom Electronics, you get a powerful 3-band EQ and a mid frequency selector, allowing you to fine-tune your sound for any genre or playing situation. From tight, percussive fingerstyle to deep, rounded lines and cutting slap tones, the SR500A gives you the tools to dial in your ideal voice quickly and accurately.
Accu-cast B500 Bridge
The Accu-cast B500 bridge provides a solid, stable platform for the strings, helping to maximise sustain and maintain reliable intonation across the entire neck. Its design offers secure string anchoring and consistent spacing, giving you a confident feel under the right hand. Combined with the bass’s overall lightweight build, it strikes a balance between comfort and performance-focused hardware.
