You'll love this if you're a guitarist who wants a to relive the glory years of grunge with your guitar. In the 90's you would have been hard pressed to find a guitarist who didn't know at least the key riffs from the Nevermind album by Nirvana. It was one of the most popular album of its time and has continued to be a popular album for many many years. One of the key parts to some of Kurt Cobain's signature sounds is a modified Fender Mustang. That guitar that was part of his sound for years is now available with this incredible Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang.
A Mustang But Different
The first thing you will notice about this mustang is the Seymour Duncan JB pickup in the bridge position. This helps you get all of those crunchy and sometimes fuzzy overdrive sounds that were popular during the grunge years and were certain used with Nirvana. Apart from some internal trickery to get the most of the humbucker this guitar in every other way is stock Mustang loveliness.
A Diverse Guitar
Made with an Alder body and maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard you can get an incredible range of sounds especially when you take the Mustangs unique switching system into account. If you have not played a mustang before the switching system may seem odd. You have a small switch above each pickup which controls not only what pickups you have selected but also the polarity of that pickup. If you are using the neck or bridge pickup on their own the polarity doesn't really matter. When you are using them together however you can get some really cool sounds by using to polarity switch.

It's with great pride then that Fender introduces the Kurt Cobain Mustang guitar, which evokes the man, the band, the sound and the times, and gives an authentically crafted nod to one of the most unlikely guitars to ever find itself at the center of a musical maelstrom.
Kurt Cobain liked Mustang guitars a lot. For one, he preferred offbeat guitars that didn't cost zillions of dollars, and the Mustang certainly fit those two criteria. Also, being somewhat physically diminutive himself, he liked to perform live with slightly more diminutive guitars, like the Mustang and Jaguar guitar, which better fit his hands and his reach.
Inspired by his arsenal of modded guitars, the Kurt Cobain Mustang guitar takes you back there, with highly distinctive features including an angled single-coil Mustang neck pickup and ferocious Seymour Duncan JB humbucking bridge pickup mounted directly to the body, dual on-off/phase in-out switches for each pickup, a polyester-finished alder body and an Adjusto-Matic bridge with dynamic vibrato tailpiece.
